    I did a drop-in class to train while I was working in Augusta. Everyone was amazing to train with and a great group of guys. Ryan is a fantastic coach and super cool guy. I highly recommend This school to anybody in the area!

    This gym is awesome! The coaches provide a very welcoming learning environment that encourages everyone to push to be their best! The class sizes are great for training & the coaches really do a great job of breaking down each technique. I recently competed in my first BJJ competition and I can honestly say I felt prepared for every circumstance I encountered (2x silver medal Adult/Masters Gi). I highly recommend this gym, I truly feel apart of the team here!

    I joined this gym when I first moved to Augusta in 2021, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The friendly atmosphere and high-quality Jiu Jitsu instruction, led by Ryne, a top-tier instructor who invests 100% in his students has not only enhanced my skills as a relatively small purple belt female but also became a vital source of stress relief. Despite my busy schedule limiting training time, I am grateful for this gym and the incredible people I've connected with here.

If you are looking to get a deeper understanding of jiu-jitsu and sharpen your skills, this is where you want to train, and Professor Ryne is who you want to be learning from.

    AJJA is a phenomenal Lovato-affiliated BJJ school with a structured curriculum, clean and disinfected mats, and talented, knowledgeable instructors who are passionate about what they do. Professor Ryne, black belt under Lovato Jr. and head BJJ instructor, is a true student of the game and equips his students with the foundational knowledge needed to be proficient killers on the mat. He makes concerted efforts to ensure his students understand what they're learning and can apply the moves on and off the mats. And his self-discipline and appreciation for the esoteric value of this beautiful martial art cannot be denied - you can really see he loves doing this! From the smile on his face when he rolls and sees a student "getting it" to happily teaching two classes a day on top of his day job as an attorney. But be prepared to work and drill techniques to perfection because this man and his gym does not produce mediocre grapplers. Your promotions will always be earned and your belts and stripes will be a true testament of your skill level. Coach Charles, the kickboxing/Muay Thai instructor, is a very cerebral striker. He'll break down moves into digestible chunks and make sure that what you're doing is right. He is a true teacher, blending philosophy and physics in his instruction to empower students not just with the ability to punch and kick, but with the kind of insight that makes you a high caliber martial artist. These guys really care about what they do. Ryne and Charles are patient teachers that are happy to impart all the knowledge they have to their students. Plus, they're just straight up nice dudes. And the atmosphere of this gym is one of enthusiasm, fun, growth, and respect. I highly recommend this gym if you're visiting or living in Augusta. People of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and skill levels are warmly welcomed to this inclusive gym.
