I have been training here for almost five years, and this gym has completely changed my life. I highly recommend it! The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, with amazing staff and a strong team mentality that makes you feel like you truly belong. The coaches are incredible—they keep you motivated, hold you accountable, and make you want to keep coming back. I’m thankful to have found this gym. Over the years, I’ve made so many friends here who I now call family. If you’re looking for a place to train and grow, this is it!

The class I took was a great experience, I came in with no knowledge whatsoever and the coach, Sadhu, made it very easy to learn. He took time to explain the moves to my roommate and I while still effectively teaching the class. The environment was overall very fun and welcoming. Definitely hope to be back!

Athlas is the best place for children to train.I have trained at a lot of different jiu-jitsu schools and Athlas is the best if you are serious about jiu-jitsu. Master Junior is an extremely high level coach and all of the coaches that work for him are great. I have not seen this level of coaching in South Florida. Since the level of coaching is so strong there are lots of great kids that train there. Some ranked in the top ten in the world. So your kid gets to drill and roll with really good competition. The great competition and coaching makes them improve fast. If you want to get good at jiu-jitsu I really recommend Athlas.

I have been going to classes at Athlas for about a year now, training all classes from MMA, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay-Thai and Boxing. The staff, coaches and Master Junior’s attention to detail make the gym exciting to come back to day-by-day. There is a culture in the gym that emphasizes making one another better, lifting eachother up, and attention to detail makes for a challenging yet family like group of people who care about each other beyond just the training mats. I couldn’t recommend Athlas enough.

Amazing gym and staff. I was in town for the day and wanted to roll and I’m so happy that I chose to come here. I was greeted by Danilson at the front and explained the prices/classes available. I have only been at ATHLAS for a week and it has been amazing. I spent 10 years away from BJJ and had been wanting to start up again. From the first day I walked in to the gym, everyone has been friendly, helpful, and encouraging. I have been to boxing, May Thai, grappling, and BJJ classes and the instruction has been fantastic. All the other gym members are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I feel lucky that I found ATHLAS.

My wife and I were in town 48 hours for work and had some time to roll. We looked at several schools online and Athlas was the only one that you didn't have to give all your info to in order to see the schedule. We were a few minutes late and got lots of help signing the waivers and getting registered. We have opportunity to visit lots of BJJ schools, but have never had this much attention from the instructor. Junior paired us up for every drill and roll and all our partners were very helpful. We are almost 50 and don't need ultra violent crazy partners. Everyone at Athlas was very good at taking care of their partners and going slow, not exploding to get submissions at all costs. Great school, we will be back if we are ever in town again.

I trained here for a 2 weeks because I was interested in the Muay Thai. I am a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, so I trained some of that too. Here are the honest pros and cons about this place. Pros: - High level training. The Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai here are very good. They compete and they know what they are doing - Great location. Plenty of parking. - Healthy culture. I saw no bullying or name calling while i was there. - Lots of classes, lots of options. Even for the little ones. Cons: - Crowded. The evening Muay Thai class wasn't very effective because there is one coach and up to 30+ folks. Consider going in the morning. You get more effective training that way. - "Hidden" Fees. Their website says you can come do a trial day for free. That is not true. You must purchase a T shirt ($30*) from them to train any class. (if you sign up, you get a free T shirt). The monthly is $200 a month, which is pretty average. However, the initiation fee is also $100*. If you want to cancel, you need to cancel 2 months in advanced. None of this information is on their website. Which leads me to my next con. - The dress code: -- Jiu jitsu requires their gi ($185) and their rashguard ($55). You get a 10% discount on the gi after signing up. -- No Gi Jiu Jitsu requires that you buy their rashguard ($55) -- Muy Thai requires their shirt ($30) Its worth noting that most gyms don't really care what you wear, as long as its serviceable. They mentioned that everyone who comes here must wear the uniform, including pro fighters. The coaches and owners here are nice and all, but I decided to go elsewhere to get better bang for my buck.

They DESPERATELY need atleast one person who speaks fluent English. I loved the gym & the Muay Thai & yoga instructors are amazing! But I had to cancel my membership on a terrible ending. In June I canceled my membership since I would be moving in September. In July they called me saying my membership ends on the 23rd of August . So I said “Can you extend it for another 30 days so I it covers september as well.” They said okay. A few weeks ago, the receptionist said they “won’t be able to extend it and that I would need to cancel my cancellation. And resubmit my 60 day cancellation to cover September.” But that would ALSO cover October & I would have moved by then. So I was annoyed by that and decided to just leave in August 23rd and find a new gym closer to where I was moving . (I later found out that this was ANOTHER language barrier moment & that he meant I would already be charged on August 17th so I can stay until September 17th not that I have to resubmit another cancelation.) But August 17th they charged me (my billing day) I thought it was an accident since I canceled in June. so I called. Anna said to text her my name. I did, she left me on “read” all day. Then I messaged on Tuesday, once again she left me on read since her “Read” receipts were on and didn’t respond. Wednesday same thing but took off the read receipt so it said “Delivered” with no response. so Thursday I called. Since no one speaks good English there was a lot of confusion! I thought they had a billing department that they refused to let me speak to but Anna meant the “processing company” was in charge of refunding my money NOT a separate billing department of Athlas. The processing company emailed me as their “billing department” and saying I couldn’t dispute the charges. But basically since I canceled on the 23rd I was still charged on the 17th (not prorated).( Remember, if I knew I would have access for another month like I requested I wouldn’t have joined another gym a month early.) So at this point I’m pretty upset! I’m overcharged and being ignored for 4 days now. Anna even cut me off & raised her voice &hung up the phone on me! So Ofcourse I went up there IMMEDIATELY , and Anna wasn’t the nicest, cutting me off and saying “ I would have to leave.” (Yes, even though I have already paid to be there that month!) This is because she thought I understood that the processing company was the one controlling the refund. Whole time I thought THEY were apart of the billing department ignoring me telling me I couldn’t dispute it! After Anna finally let me explain my side, we both got past the language barrier & understood it’s all up to the processing company. Regardless, ignoring me, hanging up on me, and then cutting me off and asking me to leave (on a month I was charged for!) because you’re frustrated & English is not good enough to understand me is beyond unprofessional. LONG STORY SHORT THEY NEED SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS FLUENT ENGLISH. This entire situation could have been avoided. Especially since at the end of the day, I ALWAYS had the extension I wanted since the beginning but the language barrier created so much unnecessary drama and a terrible ending to my overall experience. UPDATE!! The owner responded below stating "Regarding access to classes, as per the terms of your plan, you were allowed to participate in two sessions per week in a single discipline. We noticed there was an attempt to participate in multiple disciplines, which unfortunately goes beyond what was agreed in your plan." THIS IS WHAT I AM REFERRING TO. What the hell are they talking about?! I didn't bring up the several times I saw huge roaches in the gym because it would be irrelevant to my storyjust like this comment. They have NEVER said ANYTHING to me regarding this EVER. The communication is AWFUL! I had to move it down to one star.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I GOT THREATENED TO BE ASSAULTED BY MANAGEMENT OVER A CLEAR BILLING ISSUE I basically never leave reviews of any business. This might be only the 2nd review I have left of any company in my entire life so thats how bad it is that I have to share this with you This place is an absolute scam all the way around. From the material they claim to teach to the way they treat their customers, this gym is the worst. For starters they advertise as an MMA gym and teach boxing muay thai kickboxing and ji jitsu classes. As far as the boxing, muay thai and kickboxing classes go, they do an awful job of teaching technique. These classes are more about doing CARDIO than about teaching good technique for the striking arts ( Boxing , Muay Thai, and KickBoxing) There is Very little “coaching” on what combinations to throw, what stance to be in, and where to aim for knockouts. If you are looking to become more trained in these martial arts I highly recommend you look elsewhere . Because of the above I wanted to cancel because their services were not as advertised. When I spoke to someone about four months ago they said they would not let me do it saying “ Techically you signed a contract that you have to pay a month penalty for cancelling ..so too bad thats life” . Their attitude and lack of empathy is astounding. Now about 6 months later, even though I havent been there since August i started receiving $200 charges for this month or so from this “mma gym” and they told me there is not much they can do since its a 3rd party billing company that does it and not them. Here is the worst part which is very unprofessional. Once I demanded my money back a fraudulent charge for Decemeber ( I have not been there since August) they say to me on the phone “IF YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH IT WHY DONT YOU COME DOWN TO THE GYM AND FIGHT ME”. They need to hire people that know how to speak to people on phone and resolve issues not thinking they can use muscle to bully people into doing what they want. I was shocked by these remarks and that a business’s employees think just because they know how to fight they can instill fear in customers or anyone that disagrees with their business practices. That is no way to run a business. They abuse that by breaking laws and scamming people out of their money. They know they have a grimey business practice and when i was first there they kept bugging me as well as every other person in that gym to write a good review about the business , to artificially inflate their good review % , so do not be fooled. I would not feel comfortable sending my children here. For those parents considering sending their kids here I highly advise against it. It is best to keep your children away from supervision of such unhinged staff.

They offer a free first time class, yet when you get there, they inform you that you have to purchase their t-shirt for $29 in order to participate. I’ve trained at many martial arts gyms, and never have been told that. Specially when they claim to offer a free trial. That is false advertising to be exact. When you see a new person enter a gym, if you’re looking for business, it’s welcoming to greet new or prospective customers with a smile and warm and welcoming energy. It was the complete opposite. I will gladly continue my search for a new martial arts gym.
