My son attends afterschool and classes at the gym and is enjoying it. The facility is under new ownership and the improvements that have been made in the last couple of months have been great. Very friendly!
I joined the dojo just about six months ago. The way Mr. Leoni teaches me and the other students has helped increase our overall focus and discipline inside and outside of the dojo. My flexibility and stamina have grown TREMENDOUSLY at 23 years old. Mr. Leoni has been a great sensei and person to talk to. He’s been encouraging overall to me and my efforts from a day to day basis. This place has been a blessing to me since I joined and I recommend that anyone that wants a good place to learn about how to improve overall discipline should come to this dojo.
All three of our children have attended the ATA afterschool program and taekwondo classes since 2016. Mr. Leoni has been an incredible mentor. He has taught my children self confidence, self defense and self discipline. We've successfully overcome many life challenges through the years and I have no doubt that the life skills they've been taught at ATA are a huge reason why.
my daughter joined ATA around two years from now (14 y now), I needed a place where the instructor has high discipline skills, as martial arts definitely require high level of discipline practice and strong apply to discipline rules: and it was the right choice for me. aside from the fact that it's so lovely for me personally seeing a lot of parents there, my daughter developed so good to the point that the instructor is training her for tournaments, she is a tough fighter, and he definitely trains her and the rest in a very dependable way. if your kiddo is willing seriously to learn martial arts and sparring, you won't regret assigning him/her in ATA. I totally recommend this place.
My daughter has been going here for a few years. She started as a soft spoken little girl that was a little timid and has over the years grown into a firm spoken young lady with more confidence. The instructor there obviously loves children and is there 6 days a week. He will teach your kids to be more assertive and confident. He is not rash but does not coddle either. He will teach your child to control and focus their energy. He teaches martial arts! This is not a basket weaving class!!
My son has been attending ATA for 3 years and he LOVES it. It has helped with his discipline, his ability to focus, and his physical abilities. The summer camp and after school programs are excellent for the kids. The environment is great. I would highly recommend this program to anyone, you will not regret it.
You won’t regret bringing your child (or self) here to learn Taekwondo! The instructor? He is extremely good with kids! He genuinely cares about them and their progress under his instruction. He teaches them respect, discipline, self-control, leadership and next thing you know, your child has acquired confidence and self-esteem! My daughter (11) is becoming comfortable with speaking out-loud in front of her peers and is gradually becoming more social. She enjoys training, is becoming fit, flexible and overall happier with her self. I am excited for her! 😃

It is an exceptional place. Mr Leoni does great job in teaching discipline, self respect and tolerance. He is always very helpful and you can see that he has a great passion to teach Taekwondo. I have two kids attending the center now close to three years. I highly recommend to anyone who wants their children or themselves to learn martial arts, discipline, respect and achieve fitness.
My child has attended Taekwondo and the after school program at ATA for over 2 years. Mr. Leoni (owner) has the utmost respect for the parents, children, and employees of this organization. I have seen it first hand and have spoken with he and his employees on many occasions. This establishment and most of the employees have made a huge difference in my son's life. Mr. Leoni works dilegently with the children and other members to ensure they are receiving the best possible service, care, and Taekwondo training. I have tried other "similar" establishments throughout Greenville and there is no comparison. I would never take my child anywhere else, and would most definitely recommend this location to anyone and everyone!
My two daughters and I have been attending ATA Martial Arts for over two years now and we love it. The instructor is very caring and knowledgeable. He also has a lot of patience while working with the younger kids. The school offers discipline as well as the skills needed for Taekwondo. ATA Martial Arts of Greenville also offers an awesome after school program. If you are looking for discipline and homework assistance, this is the after school program for you.
My experience with ATA martial arts over the past year has been been fun and then not so fun.. There are times when i feel it is just too much for me at my age but Mr. Leoni keeps on encouraging me. Its like he never gives up on me even when I give up on myself. My grandson has come so far in 11/2 years.. I'm so proud of him. Thank you Mr Leoni for being a great instructor . The atmosphere is great and all the people there are so friendly.
Our son started at ATA when he was 4 1/2. He was a great follower, polite and very friendly. We wanted to help him focus to prepare for Kindergarten and help him be more of a leader. What we have received has been so much more! Our son has become an excellent leader and still follows, his manners are natural and do not have to be forced. He has more adults that he trusts, respects and looks up to. He has made great friends that encourage and comfort him. He participates in the after school program now that he has started school and completely LOVES it. He gets homework help, snack, playtime, and Taekwondo everyday. Thank you Mr. Leoni for making our lives better!
"Daddy, I want to learn Karate" "Why?" "Because I do..... Pleeeeeaaaaassseeee......." "OK, we'll go to one class and see....." That is how it started, and I'm glad we went. Truly, I started taking classes with him and for him, but I have stayed for both of us! When he asked if he could attend the after-school program, I hesitantly agreed, and am glad I did. Homework done, learning Spanish, and time with his friends before our class together is great! I cannot express how grateful we are for Mr Leoni's teaching and patience. I used to dread going to the gym, but now I look forward to class everyday! (and I've cancelled the gym membership) I cannot give a higher recommendation, so whether you're looking to learn self defense, get in shape, or simply have fun with the opportunity to learn a martial art with your child this is the place for you and your family! We have been taking our 6 year old boy to ATA academy for a year and it has been a wonderful experience. Mr. Leoni is a fine example of leadership and discipline for our son. He emphasizes self-defense and self-control. He is a great reinforcement of what we teach at home (discipline, chivalry, leadership and integrity). We have gotten to know all sorts of people from all walks of life and value the friendships we have made through this organization. Mr. Leoni also offers great after school care where our child takes additional classes such as Spanish. We are so fortunate to have met Mr. Leoni and look forward to many years of this fantastic sport.
The bathrooms don't work and the kids are only allowed to go #1. Sewage leaking out of the restrooms. Horrible conditions. This is a place where the health dept needs to investigate. The owner needs to step up or some parents need to open their eyes.
Would not recommend.. the place is filthy the guy in Charge just yelles at the kids
Unprofessional and does not have respect for the kids or their parents. It’s dirty and overall unhealthy environment for the kids. I do not recommend! If I can give him zero stars, I would.
The worst experience ever the place is filthy the guy in charge is very rude just yelling at the kids and making fun of them If they speak to softly.
A few years back, he tied my daughter's ankle to a chair.. It's a strong no for me. I didn't feel like it was a place of fairness for "us". But a lot could have changed by now.
