  Been training at Artez for around 18 months. Very friendly bunch this lot, like extended family. No egos. I joined after my now 17 and 19 year olds wanted to practice their moves on me, being in my mid 50's I felt I needed to learn to defend myself against them. Don't get me wrong, it's bloody hard work and everyone is dripping wet after every session. It's very addictive. There's all levels from beginners right through to black belts and everyone respects their opponents abilities, every single one of us have had that first lesson, so we've all been there. I admit, the first lesson is a bit daunting but after mine I couldn't wait to get back in. A normal 2 hour lesson consists of an hour of partnering up with someone and learning moves shown by the instructors and the second hour grappling and practicing the moves we've just learnt. Would be great to get more people in their 40s and 50s there, I wish I started years ago. We've just had a 61 year old get his purple belt! Tremendous!

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic BJJ club! Sid and Michelle have created a friendly and welcoming environment with excellent coaching. They offer a great service and genuinely care about helping everyone improve. I'd highly recommend this club to anyone looking to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

  Fantastic club with great coaches who are always welcoming and approachable. They'll take the time to really go through techniques with you and I always feel like I can ask questions if I'm stuck on something. Everyone who goes is friendly and the atmosphere is built towards learning and enjoyment. There are plenty of opportunities for putting what you have learnt into practice with the sparring classes. The open mat is also well worth doing and is a good time to train and learn from the coaches and other students. Would highly recommend, 10/10!

  What a wonderful place you bring your kids. Friendly, fun atmosphere with informed and fun coaches. Teaching our little ones life skills as well as BJJ. 100% recommend.

  I can’t recommend Artez BJJ in Rotherham highly enough! As someone who had no prior experience with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, joining this gym has been a life-changing journey for me - both physically and mentally. From day one, the atmosphere has been incredibly welcoming. The instructors are top-notch, not only in their technical knowledge but in how they teach - breaking down complex moves in a way that’s easy to understand, even for beginners. The classes are well-structured, with a great mix of drilling, technique, and live sparring, so there’s always something new to learn and all learning styles are catered for. In addition to the regular classes, I’ve also had the privilege of taking private tuition here. The one-on-one sessions have been a game-changer for my progression, allowing me to focus on specific techniques and receive more tailored feedback. It’s been incredibly beneficial in helping me fine-tune my skills and build confidence at a much faster rate. The personal attention in these sessions makes all the difference. On a personal level, training here has given me a new level of confidence and strength. I’ve seen major improvements in my fitness, but the biggest change has been mental. The discipline and focus BJJ requires have helped me manage stress better, stay calm under pressure, and feel more resilient in all areas of life. The community is fantastic too - whether you're brand new or more experienced, everyone supports each other. It’s more than just a gym; it’s like being part of a family where you’re encouraged to push your limits, but also given the space to grow at your own pace.   Artez BJJ is my 1st BJJ gym, so welcoming made me feel at home straight away. Artez has the best coaches delivering detailed classes. Overall 10/10 gym so happy I made the decision in getting into bjj and gained a new gym family 🥋🫶
