My daughter enjoys the classes and I enjoy the daycare.
My son is very excited with his classes, the environment in the classroom is very family oriented, teachers and owners are excellent people.
Love this place so much, been going here since I was four and I’ve loved every year, it’s now been ten years and I’m a black belt, about to test for my second, and I’ve loved every year here. They taught me so much, including discipline, respect, courtesy, self defense, confidence, and general life skills too! And the opportunities are amazing! I’ve gotten to teach other kids, help at events, perform, travel, do tournaments, and make so many friends. That’s one of the most amazing things, throughout all of this you’re doing it with your friends, which makes all of it even more memorable! I recommend this place so highly, if you have kids, send them here, half of my best memories were made in this place, and it’s like a second home to me. I learned hard work and self defense, but also social skills and teamwork! And throughout all of this I was having the time of my life, and I made so many memories. There have been really hard things of course, but the instructors and friends I made always helped me out. Taekwondo has become a huge part of my life, not just on the mat but off too, it taught me focus and discipline, which helps me so much at school. This place is the best and I have them to thank for so many of my achievements in life, lots of happy memories, and who I am today. Five out of five stars you should go here fr. Literally it’s been so fun going here, and even though it’s challenging it’s worth it, the happiness that comes from martial arts is only something you can understand it you do it, and I highly recommend this place, the instructors are patient and very experienced, staff is supportive and pushes people to work hard. even my dad is enrolled. this place is awesome. People legitimately learn things AND have so much fun doing it.
IVE BEEN HERE SO MANY TIMES, taking lessons since I was 3, the instructors are so kind, and perfectly strict, they’re more like good friends than teachers to me at this point, I would recommend to anyone looking to learn self defense and as an added bonus one of the founders/creators of AMYS is a world class Olympic taekwondo judge, and yes I’ve confirmed it, this place is for real, it’s amazing.
Amy’s has been great for my daughter. They teach competitive taekwondo and are the state champions every year.
We went for a birthday party, such a fun place!!! And the staff are really friendly
Best place ever!! My son has grown leaps and bounds!! They pick him up from school, help with his homework, and bring out the best in him 🤩😍
I have loved Amy’s so much!! I have been doing taekwondo with them for five to six years and have just tested for my second degree black belt. The staff are excellent and the classes full of useful skills. The kids gain so much confidence as they go and the teachers are good with the kids.
Everyone is so friendly and the instructors have great feedback and knowledge.
My son joined AMYS back in June and it’s been a great experience for him and us as well. He didn’t speak English and the teachers were very understanding and patient with him.
This is an AWESOME school the instructors really care about their students and the classes are soooo FUN. If you have a kiddos 4 years olds & up this is the place to go to!
My son loves his time here! He has learned to excel in many ways! It’s good for his health and we made a good decision bringing here! Would definitely recommend!
We love Amy’s Martial Arts! The staff is professional and friendly. They help each person feel welcome. They are skilled in how they teach Taekwondo, self-mastery, leadership and all the tenets of taekwondo. The classes are fun and engaging. In both the Orem and the Draper studio they have great after school programs, day and summer camps. There is something for everyone here. I highly encourage you to join the Amy’s family today!
We’ve been here for over a year. Best place ever!!!!! Friendly people, specious and clean. My kids love to come and learn. Master Sam has such a warm smile and my kids love him! They have try outs to get a feel for the place. Call and ask, trust me you won’t regret it! Hablan español!
AMYS is the best! My kids have been coming here for years and are well on their way to black belt. The masters and instructors are the best!
I firmly believe all the masters and teachers are great influence to all the kids who attend the classes. My son Jayden loves martial arts his goal is to be a black belt someday and is dying to participate in tournaments already ahaha so far so good one of my best investments has been enrolling my son at Amys martial arts since he was 4 years old. Thank you to all the masters and teachers at Amy’s martial arts for your dedication To all the kids in our community.
You are awesome!
I love this place. They are so patient with my young son, and use techniques to get him to focus that are new to me. I love how they focus on safety, Knowing their parent's names and numbers, and stranger danger. This place is incredible
Awesome instructors. We went to a free trial and my 2 and 3 year old boys didn't cry for the first time hahaha they felt comfortable and the large group setting was helpful. The instructors held their hands to help them run since it was all new to them. They were so proud of themselves and said they wanted to come back again. They were so busy that the guy at the front desk didn't take the boys to their class like he said he would so we walked up so they didn't miss their class and then nobody followed up with us afterwards, we walked up to ask about pricing but I totally get it, they're swamped! We're definitely checking our schedules and pricing to see if we can do this for our boys. They loved their class!
The instructors are awesome! They're very patient with the kids. I've seen a big improvement in my son in the few months he's been attending. The entire staff is great!
I love this place!! My husband has worked here for a little while now and that’s given me the opportunity to get to know the owners and coaches and some of the kids. It is such a fun atmosphere and everyone really cares about the children. They are always trying to improve, and want everyone to have a good experience.
My kids have loved coming to Amy’s. They especially liked the parkour classes. My partner and I loved the monthly Parent’s Night Out. Unfortunately we aren’t able to go there anymore, but they have been great!
My son comes here for parkour and absolutely loves it. They always have different activities and the staff ate wonderful
My son just started here. They have been really great working with him even when he gets shy. Everyone is so friendly!
Top notch school. Professional and organized. Plus my kid always has fun.
My son loved loved parents night out! Among us was the best one best night of his life!!!
My son lives the classes here. It's a good mix of fun, discipline and martial arts.
The quality and professionalism of these guys is Amazing. From the coaches to the admin to the director Everyone is on the same page! ! ! Outstanding in My Book! ! !
Such a fantastic staff!!! Great place for kids to grow and learn!!! I highly recommend!!!
These owners are always dedicated to being the BEST and give their members and families 100% all the time. This is a great program and you won’t go wrong by enrolling your kids in any of their programs!
We LOVE AMYS. This studio keeps Wowing me. The instructors are kind, patient, firm, and have helped my two boys immensely. My eldest has ADHD and his self-discipline has already improved since enrolling. My youngest is pretty shy, and he's tried so many new things because of this class. Not to mention, the monthly events, camps, and after school programs are just an amazing resource. Highly recommend!
It's a great school. I especially like the teachers. They're so talented and skilled in what they do.
I have 2 boys that have been going to AMYS and we've been members for about 3 years. I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review. First off, the staff is first rate. They are kind, professional, understanding, adaptable, friendly, skilled, and really get to know your child. The facilities are well-suited to progress and a welcoming to watch your child during class. The curriculum and progress through tapes, and belt graduations are very motivating and are perfectly suited to expect learning and progress, and not just award 'participation.' We tried other martial arts facilities before we settled on AMYS and have stayed since. What it has done for our children has far surpassed our expectations. Would, will, and do recommend. We love AMYS!
AMY'S IS PHENOMENAL! The Orem and Draper locations work with kids and adults of all ages and belt ranks. They teach methods of self defense, stranger danger, offer weapons training sparring and more. Children as young as 2-3 can attend. Classes for all age groups and skill levels are offered multiple times each week to accommodate busy schedules. They teach and build upon home taught concepts like honesty, responsibility, perserverence, determination, compassion, respect and integrity to name just a few. They make their program extremely fun for kids and challanging for adults. Amy's teachers are not just teachers but mentors to the students they teach. Several are accomplished martial artist's with national titles. They love the sport and are dedicated to providing a fun safe environment for children to learn. The after school programs and summer camps they offer are fun and educational! There are a variety of activities and themed events that keep kids engaged and active. The most significant changes we have seen with our children who participate in the program are an increase their martial arts skills. An increase in their self confidence. Our children have an improved willingness and capability to adapt with change and take on new challanges. Their focus and discipline with daily tasks continues to improve. AMY'S has a truly remarkable program! If you aren't a part of the AMY'S family and are looking for a great martial arts school, THIS IS THE ONE! CALL THEM TODAY!
Amy's martial arts is awesome! It has helped boost my sons confidence, agility, and has taught him the importance of safety! The teachers are great and the staff is very friendly.
Amy's Taekwondo is the best school for marshal arts in Utah. My son loves the classes, parties, Summer Fest, and Summer Camp activities they have. He's been going for almost 3 years now and has made a lot of friends. We love the tumbling and sparring classes and the sparring gear is awesome. The instructors are great and care about every student, they really go out of their way to help every kid to gain self confidence and amazing skills while the classes are fun and well organized. This is a black belt school and the instructors have been training for years to earn their black belts and the skills necessary to teach taekwondo and to help students be successful.
It was my Six year old daughter first day today (07/20/16); she was crying and extremely timid. The instructor noticed and instantly jumped into action, which made my daughter feel calm and welcomed. I really like how much patience the instructors have with their students. By the end of the class my daughter didn't want to leave because she was having so much fun. I definitely look forward to continue taking my daughter to her classes. It was a great first day experience and highly recommend Amys Martial Arts!
My son really likes be a part of this awesome Martial school. They have a nice instructors
Amys Martial Arts is an absolute gem. This has been our kids' dojang for about four months now, and they absolutely love it. Amys is all about discipline and achievement with love and humor. I can't imagine ever wanting to stop, and I'm thinking of enrolling myself, in middle age. The instructors at Amys are modest, but their pedigree is ridiculous. Multiple-time NCAA champions, champions of global events, national team members... they are the real deal. The Amys students are, as a team, also multiple-time state champions. This achievement doesn't come from nowhere, it comes from the implicit philosophy of the place. They're not just about form, repetition, and sparring, like so many other places. It's all in service of deeper values, and those are the things that make me happiest to have my kids at Amys. (Little secret: They won't explain or admit it, but I suspect that the name, Amys, isn't about a person—it's about the three sisters that are the school and are all high achievers in Taekwondo—"Amely, Melany, y Samery"—Amys.) Five stars, easily. A local treasure.
Amys Martial Arts has been so great for my daughter. She has been there for almost 3 years and has improved in her physical and emotional abilities and strength. There are phenomenal instructors with great knowledge, ability to teach, morals and values that they instill. The environment is clean, plenty of space, beautiful gym. The students and instructors are all wonderful and helpful. All of the students are very respectful and very eager to learn. No one has an "ego", and everyone is helpful to each other.
My children have been at Amys for 2 years now. A year ago I was watching the students doing black belt testing and it looked like an difficult and exciting challenge! So I joined too! The teachers are fabulous and have a lot of very high quality training and competition and judging experience. I absolutely love going every day and they work me hard! I am 40 years old and never thought I would be doing what I am doing now. I am more flexible than I have ever been and have significantly improved my balance and strength. I love the challenge and there is always something more I can work on and push myself on. They cover poomsae, weapons, sparring, tricking, tumbling, competing, etc. If a student wants to focus on just certain aspects of it all, they can. There are so many areas to train in that a person can find what they love and drives them and they have the instructors to help them succeed. My problem is I want to learn it all and there isn't enough time in life! :D They focus not just on the martial art or sport of it but also on helping each person improve personally. It's about being a good and honest person who has balance in life. It's about relationships and also learning to confront fears and insecurities. They help students learn to apply many healthy principles in all areas of their life. Yes, it does cost money, but what doesn't? A person can decide how much they want to do and if they want to invest more time and money or not. Some come once a week and some come most every day. Some want to compete and some just want to improve their fitness. I have been learning and improving every time I go. I definitely recommend Amys Martial Arts!
The teacher for our son's parkour course was really good. Very tolerant of his emotional swings. The equipment appears to be in good condition. Place looks a little run down though. Parking is difficult.
Classes and instructors were good/ok. My toddler just wasn't enjoying it which isn't the gym's fault. Also any kid can just test and be promoted into a higher rank which is wack. No consideration to if the kid has actually put in the work to deserve a higher rank goes into play. And I know they're kids but that's what a martial art is for, to teach hard work and respect. Not just show up and be rewarded of course this is done to have parents pay another fee. But we did go and request to cancel the membership in Dec 2021 and the front desk told us that we were good to go and it would all be canceled and no charge would come in Jan. But we were charged in Jan 2022 again. We reached out and they told us to send an email requesting to cancel and they would take care of it. No refund was ever issued. We reached out about it again and they said that we needed a written cancelation request from the beginning so no refund would be issued. *** Update *** I was refunded so thank you. Did update to 4 stars just because kids do have fun and it is entertaining for them. As a business they are a good.
We signed up on a summer sale promo for gymnastics. We only wanted it for like 2 months during the summer. They have a 30-day notice cancelation period which we thought we understood. When we cancelled on 7/28 they said because our billing started June 22, we would be billed again on August 22 (for a 3rd month!!!) Looking at my charges we also realized the $54 we thought we were being charged monthly was just the sign up fee and the promo was that we only paid that much instead of the $99 registration fee). The monthly rate were being charged was $71 and it looks like we'll be charged for 3 months while we only attend for 2! Very confusing plan. Getting charged $265 for 2 months of 45 min per week is ridiculous! Update: After working with them, they said they wouldn't bill us for a third month. I have updated my review and rating accordingly.
Instructors are great and knowledgeable. Very patient with children. I felt the communication needed some work. I had no idea what was going on half the time. No one explained to me how my daughter needed to earn her belt nor did they talk to me about upcoming events, programs, a fb page, etc.. I paid to have my daughter test for her belt because they pushed for it. I didn't realize she didn't need to test because she just got her first belt. When I asked for a refund they kept directing away from my question. Needless to say, I never got my money back. They also don't just let you cancel your membership. You have to pay for another month after you put in to cancel before you can officially stop getting charged. That was not explained to us until we asked to cancel our membership. Like I said, great instructors who know their stuff. But I would probably never return here with my other children.
My husband and I attended a couple classes here about a year ago and it's crazy were still getting notifications (its the only reason im writing this now so late but clearly they need more of a hint) notifications about joining classes after we told them we won't be coming back due to our experience. We had a substitute children's instructor and he was showing us how to do a "left hook" and my husband broke one of his wrist bones! He said to me and the instructor several times this doesn't feel right are you sure, and well that was our result. For months we had struggled with income because of this it was awful we had some of the toughest times because of this, but we did sign a waver saying it's our responsibility and ultimately it was and we survived obviously but it was just an unfortunate outcome of something that was supposed to be fun and educational.
I will never bring my kids back. They are immature, and do not know how to deal with any conflict. Multiple times I was told to come get my 4 year old because he was acting up. My older children told me on many occasions that he was being beat up on and was defending himself however he was the only one being put in time out or pulled from activities. I brought a medicated cream for them to put on him to relax him so he could take a nap (he's 4! He needs one) within 24 hrs it was "accidently thrown away" I took a pillow and blanket for him but "they can't find them either". I prepaid the whole summer, wish I wouldn't have. The field trips are extra $, the pizza party.... $6 for 2 slices of little Ceasars pizza ($5 for a whole pizza when you buy them). My daughter would video call me quite often at which I would see the coaches sitting around on their cell phones and not interacting with the kids at all. I would see my 4 year old sitting in the corner crying and sad. Again, my kids will NEVER go back! Did I mention my 10 year old that I withdrew a few weeks in, kids were cussing at him and hitting him, but guess who got in trouble. My kid, I have other older kids that witnessed each incident and said that my son was not instigating things, but when defended himself he would get in trouble. Maybe the coaches should stay off their phone and watch a little closer to what the kids are doing. I hope nobody else has to regret their summer like my husband I do from taking them there.
