Alliance was founded in 1993 by Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti, Fabio Gurgel and Alexandre Paiva. Alliance is recognized as one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teams in the world; known not only for the quality of its coaching but also for its professionalism. Globally, the Alliance network has created hundreds of World Champions, with over 25 of them at the black belt level.
My child attends the after school program at Alliance Jiu-Jitsu, which includes Jiu Jitsu classes and time for unstructured play. I am so impressed by this program. The instructors are exceptional: friendly, welcoming, and skilled. The program is well-organized and safe. I've been so happy to watch my child develop athletic skills, discipline, and respect, while having so much fun. At first, my child was timid and imitated, but the instructors were welcoming and encouraging, and now, my child does not want to leave when it's time for pick-up.
Posted 1 year agoAlliance Jiu Jitsu After-School program has been incredible for my kids! The coaches are patient, encouraging, and really focus on discipline and respect, which is so important to me as a parent. My children come home excited after every class, and I’ve seen huge improvements not only in their physical abilities but also in their confidence and focus at school. The gym feels like a family, and the staff always go the extra mile to make sure the kids are learning and having fun. Highly recommend this program for any parent looking to get their kids into a positive, structured activity!
Posted 1 year agoI had the pleasure of competing against one of their youth athletes, as an adult my self. I found the coaches conducted them selves very professionally and respectfully. I just wanted to give that review here. The coaches seemed very supportive and they knew what they were talking about.I believe you would be in good hands with this school
Posted 2 years agoAlliance Vancouver was the best choice in martial arts studios we've tried over the years. The classes for the kids and teens were fun and engaging and I know that the impact of the coaching and support they received will stay with them for years. I highly recommend this place for its professionalism and sense of community on and off the mats whether you're a beginner or have trained for years!
Posted 2 years agoGot my gold necklace stolen mid practice!!! I went for a experimental class ONCE, and after the session my chain was not with my belongings. I had to call dozens of times for updates since the staff simply refused to give me proper support, they refused to show me camera footage and refused to confront the students present at said practice. I can’t stress enough how I would never introduce someone to bjj at this gym, there are so many better options with people who actually care to have their students fell safe and respected. If you dont care about the values you gain with martial arts, you are at the right place :)
