The best Jiu-Jitsu gym you could ever ask for. Welcoming and inclusive, each member of their staff shares a deep passion for the sport and ensures everyone in the gym is genuinely taken care of. They offer a wide array of classes that are tailored to people of all ages and levels, from kids to beginners, and of course advanced practitioners. They even go out of their way to host “woman’s only” and competition classes, which aides to their diversity. With a flexible schedule from classes early in the morning to late in the evening, every Alliance member has the opportunity to regularly train while balancing their responsibilities in life. Dropped in as a visiting black belt. Loved the experience— the team has a great vibe and the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable on details. 10/10 would recommend, make sure you have a white gi.

We stumbled into Alliance after enrolling my daughter at the dance school next door and I’m so grateful that we did. All the coaches/professors Mark, Johnny, Karo, Juan, Lauren & so many more are amazing! This place has become family - it is so much more than just Jiu Jitsu training. My son has been training there since we moved to SoCal in 2020 and he loves it, he enjoys training and competing.

These are some of the most selfless, positive reinforcing coaches who are constantly finding ways to improve my son's technique through skill building, strength and conditioning. Professor Mark and Professor Johnny are powerful role models in my son's life. Everyone at this gym from the athletes, coaches, professors and families have created a welcoming and positive environment.

I've trained jiu jitsu for 8+ years and close to 4 years with Alliance Carlsbad. I originally joined because of the world class instruction (we're part of a team that trains world champions!) but stayed for the amazing community of people. All the instructors are welcoming and knowledgeable, and everyone trains hard while taking care of each other. My wife and daughters also recently started training and love it. We couldn't be happier to be part of this community.

My daughter is almost 7 and she has been training and competing for 3 years. We tried 2 other gyms for a year and a couple others for the trial period and none of the others met our needs. She has been training at Alliance Carlsbad for a year and it is amazing. The coaches are world class. The schedule is awesome, there are so many available classes from 6am to 8pm. I started 9 months ago and I’m addicted now as well. For me it’s really been a lifestyle change with a ton of health benefits. I wish I started 20 years ago. I highly recommend this organization and the people that support it.

Alliance Carlsbad is truly an amazing academy. I started here 2 months ago (March 2023) after 2.5 years training jiu jitsu at Alliance San Diego in Miramar. I recently moved to the city of Oceanside and the drive to Miramar was becoming overwhelming. So Johnny Faria told me about Alliance Carlsbad and here we are today. The facilities, coaching staff, students and overall culture that this place has is incredible. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming, and the training is high level. It’s truly a no judgement/ no drama environment and everyone works together to help each other level up! Whether your looking to start jiu jitsu for the very first time, transfer to a new academy, or enroll your children into a new martial arts… this is the place to do it! Highly recommend 👍

Purely put, This place is phenomenal!! What Professor Mark has created here is nothing short of amazing! This gym has something for everyone from a family friendly environment to someone wanting to be more competitive! The kids program is exceptional and they are truly molding the future through their kids program. A jiu jitsu gym centered in the heart of Carlsbad village. Because of this it makes it a real community driven martial arts studio. There’s something for everyone here, truly. From all walks of life and ranging ages the owner and professors have done an exceptional job considering each student individually and creating an atmosphere that feels like a family. My whole family has been training for over 4 years now and will continue to until the unforeseeable future!

Both my little boys train at Alliance Carlsbad. My 6 year old may be one of the most difficult to coach out of all the kids. I am beyond grateful for coach Mark, Johnny, Carro and the rest of the staff. They have created a safe place where they instill respect, discipline, and hard work in their students. My sons may never compete in a single BJJ competition. I pay for the mentorship and life skills provided by Alliance Carlsbad. Alliance Carlsbad is a tremendous asset to the Carlsbad community.

I was intimidated at first, but the professors were so patient and professional and the other members were so welcoming and helpful, I quickly got over that and began to enjoy learning. I'm certain that anything I write in my attempt to express how special Alliance is to my family, in particular with my son, will not be enough. But I feel compelled to give it a shot, especially during this difficult time in which small businesses like Alliance are so desperately trying to hold on. We moved to Carlsbad Village last August and knew no one. My son struggled to make friends but immediately was welcomed here by everyone...and I mean everyone. From the staff, to the other students, and even other parents. Over time, my son's confidence has grown exponentially, in no small part to this incredible environment. The staff at Alliance are skilled, patient and supportive but demand the most out of their students at all levels. We are proud to be apart of the family at Alliance. If you are considering a gym that embodies everything that is truly special about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, absolutely consider Alliance. Currently, they are offering Zoom classes to keep everyone engaged in their development and offer classes for all skill levels. Great place to train and to get a great exercise in. If you are looking to just do it for fun or to compete, they have top notch instructors and great students all around. Great group of guys with very flexible class schedules. Love their morning, afternoon and night time classes. Muay Thai kickboxing classes are great with awesome instructors. If you get a chance, drop by and try them out. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Tons of classes! I love that they have so many classes for people of all experiences. I just started my jiu-jitsu journey and they have tons of time slots open. Looking forward to trying out the kickboxing class and the strength and conditioning class in the near future. Love this place.

I loved the intro classes they offer and the first week trial to get a good feel for the gym. Everyone has a positive attitude and just wants to learn and get better. The instructors really take time to answer questions and do 1 on 1 help for all the students. Very happy with everything so far.

I did a drop in class while on vacation. Gym was clean, everyone was welcoming and fun to work with. Professor Mark Vorgeas was clearly invested in his students. He also took time to work with me even though he knew I was just visiting on vacation. I would recommend this gym to any locals looking for a good place or anyone on vacation.

I've been training at Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Carlsbad for a while now. I can't say enough good things. The inclusive family friendly environment is great for all ages and experience levels. I’ve never trained any martial art until I found Alliance Jiu Jitsu. The coaches are welcoming, knowledgeable, encouraging and are all high-level competitors. The regular students there make you feel like family from day one and are always helping the less expericed ones. If you’re even lightly considering trying BJJ or looking for a new school, come train with us!
