I was just visiting Opfikon for a short time and had the chance to train at this dojo. Even though it was only for one day, they welcomed me like family and didn’t even charge me for the session. The atmosphere was friendly, respectful, and full of good energy. The training was solid, and everyone—from the coach to the students—made me feel right at home. I’m truly grateful for the hospitality and can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for such a warm experience!
Posted 1 year agoI started training at the Akatsuki Dojo 6 months ago, and I must say, it has been an incredible experience! The dojo offers an excellent environment for learning Jiu-Jitsu and Karate while having an immense amount of fun. The instructor Marco, is truly outstanding. Not only does he possess a wealth of knowledge and skill, but he also has a remarkable ability to teach and engage with students of all levels. His passion for martial arts is evident in every class, and he ensures that everyone understands the techniques and the art of fighting. What sets this dojo apart is the perfect blend of rigorous training and enjoyable sessions. The classes are well-structured, and the instructor’s enthusiasm is contagious, making each session something to look forward to. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner, you will find yourself improving and learning something new every time. Overall, the Akatsuki Dojo is an amazing place to train. If you are looking to truly learn the art of fighting while also having fun, this is the dojo for you. Highly recommended!
Posted 1 year agoAmazing place to train in martial arts! Marco is an amazing practitioner with extensive experience of multiple karate styles and also a great teacher. His trainings are well suited for both beginners and advanced practitioners. I have trained with Marco for 6 months now and he never fails to impress me in every training session.
Posted 3 years agoI was lucky to train 2 times at the Akatsuki dojo and loved every minute. It's a small dojo and feels very much like a family, Marco (black belt under Imanari) welcomed me warmly and so did the entirety of the team. Since the group is small Marco can pay a lot of attention, he also generously smashed me for 3 minutes. They do a class of no gi followed by a gi class and it seems that usually students do both. When I was there the emphasis was on drills and technique, when we fought it was 3 minute rounds and 30 sec breaks iirc, everybody was starting the rounds on their feet. It was only white and blue when I was there but I've seen some purples on their social media. It's a special place really, try if you get the chance, they're on bjj globetrotters too.
Posted 3 years agoEach to each own, i dont judge. But there where some world issues that drove me personaly nuts. So I where searching for some balance in my life. So thats how I went for a tryout at the Akatsuki Dojo to experience BJJ . Every one was so nice and all, but what kept me there, was that i got soo humbled and never felt so defenceless as an adult before. Even the warm up in it self is challenging. Marco don't like to be called Master, but thats exactly what he is in my eyes. A true Master of his craft. Where i learn for my self, how to view things in life. That violence could be an option, but true skill, is by finding a more strategic path and to stay humble. Where you find a good entry, create a good base and be able to have lots of options to finish the game. Don't get me wrong, im still a beginner and have a long long way to go. But i found a new passion, with people i have a lot of love and respect for. So thank you Marco and the whole Akatsuki family for more than just a sport, but a home and a way of living.
