Both my son and myself train here. The coaches are fantastic! They respect you regardless of your skill level, push you to challenge yourself, and take the time to explain the drills in great detail. They will give you the tools to become a better version of yourself. We absolutely love training here!!

My boys have been doing Jiu Jitsu here with Coach Jason for quite some time. He is very patient with the kids and a great teacher. My boys have learned a lot of skills, self confidence and self discipline. Classes are fun and instructive, and they always look forward to attending. We couldn’t be happier with this program.

This gym is my home away from home. I spend many many hours at the gym sharpening my mind and martial arts. The staff there is my martial arts family, Valeda at the desk is amazing and very personable. Sensei Seth is a great black belt coach to look up to and has a lot of knowledge to give to his students. They and that gym has helped me in many surprising ways along my journey. This is a great place to grow as a person as well as in your martial arts. The coaches are fun and patient. I'm happy I got the courage to walk in there 4 years ago!

Used to go here before I got a job, now that they cut my hours for school I’m highly considering going back! Not a mcdojo as a lot of places are. They actually teach you shit and the coaches and students are some of the nicest people I’ve met around here. 100/10

First-rate coaches have helped me build confidence and competence as a hobbyist. I sat and watched my boys train for 5 months before I made the decision and commitment to get on the mats. Our family is stronger and more resilient because of our AK-49 extended family. Iron sharpens iron. 👊🏻

AK-49 Martial Arts is a great academy! Very welcoming and very fun. The coach is extremely knowledgeable and open to questions. The art is intriguing but also applicable to real life situations. I not only feel knowledgeable in this art, but able to defend myself if need be! Very excited for my journey here!

AK--49 Martial Arts is probably the best organized martial arts dojo in Alaska. They are the only gym on the peninsula that provides world class striking for the whole family. They start teaching kids from ages 8-18years old taking seriously the attention span required to learn the patterns of Bang Muay Thai. My son has been training with Bang Muay Thai for the past 5 years and has not only increased his technique for kickboxing but has seen it translate into his wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu as well. Any child will reap the benefits of training at AK-49 gaining mental strength, discipline, and athleticism on and off the mats modeling leadership wherever they go. I encourage anyone to try it out. Oh yeah, they the only gym on the peninsula to hold the AFC lightweight title and have a fighter in the UFC.

AK 49 martial arts is one-of-a-kind. Straight forward, you will be happy with one on one's with coach Seth. I have two kids involved. My son is a year into doing classes and one on ones as well. My daughter is 7 months into classes and one on one's. Both my kids are growing into Ninjas and growing in confidence and realizing more and more what respect can mean and how goals can be discovered. My family is thankful for this program.

AK-49 Martial Arts is a huge part of our son's life. He has not only learning Bang Muay Thai kickboxing but self discipline, respect and honor. We value this program and it is an asset to our children and this wonderful community. Hands down, best martial arts school on the Kenai Peninsula if not in the State of Alaska.

I’ve had the pleasure of training under Seth for almost a year. What I think I find most impressive is his love for the youth in our community. Coming from someone who dabbles in trying to help our local youth, I truly appreciate his level of dedication to them. It’s very clear from observation, he handles/approaches every kid uniquely in order to help them better themselves. I highly encourage anyone with kids 8yrs old and up, to come join in this great family we have. I also encourage every adult to come learn a few things that might help you out someday.

Couches are warm hearted and take the time to learn each of the students. Everything that’s done is done with heart with pure value in raising a wonderful future of great leaders. The depths of the changes I’ve seen with the love and guidance with my own children not only show how they are in class, but as well as in school and home. I’ve never been so impressed a d thankful for a class that becomes apart of your life, as well as the wholesome parents you meet. Thank you for choosing a path to dedicate to these hardworking children! Definitely strongly encourage everyone to enroll, you won’t regret it!

Great environment, very clean. Coaches are very ambitious to help learn at your pace. Great gym for all type of people to join. Awesome for kids of all ages also. It has really help with mine with burning off that excess energy from being in school all day. Bed time is a breeze after training. For adults it's a great weight loss, confidence and self security booster. Whatever you are looking you'll find it here for a great price!!!

I’m biased, because I’m a coach over there. That being said I’m still here after two and a half years! It’s fun, the Little Ninjas program is amazing, kids building confidence. We keep it Martial Arts oriented (it’s a dojo after all) and the first class is always free! We want to recruit beginners specifically, because it’s fun to watch them grow so please feel welcome to join! 🙏🏽☺️💥🥊

The coaches are very knowledgeable. It’s a great workout and skill to have. But be wary when it comes to paying (any billing issue or question will be met with a strong opponent). Their dedication to money is just as strong as the dedication to their craft. And if we learned anything from history, warriors will fight and die for a cause whether it’s wrong or not.

Rude instructor decided to tell us that it isn’t a daycare and the youngest kids they take is 8. We weren’t even inquiring, just watching since my two year old was interested in what they were doing. Completely unnecessary and rude.
