Truly talented and knowledgeable teachers. Classes are great for fitness and self defense. They offer a great variety of classes that feed into / compliment each other: boxing, bjj, kickboxing, Southeast Asian Martial Arts (including Silat), Jeet Kun Do, Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), and Capoeira. Highly recommend checking out a class!
I have never learned so much "real" martial arts and self defense knowledge (because it's teaching you to feel/understand your body movements). Genuine training + fun/ laughs + workout + learning about martial arts histories + etiquettes + great people of all shapes and sizes. I highly recommend AIMS!
The instructors are phenomenal and the range of classes available give you experience in a multitude of different styles of martial arts. The way the strikes, positions, and movements are taught make it seem like they are your body’s natural response to the scenario you are put into. Great academy and the best classes I have taken in the city over the past 6 years!
Truly the best kickboxing class I’ve been too! The instructors are great teachers and truly love what they teach. They offer a wide range of classes at a great rate so you’re sure to find a class that fits your interests! Easy to find location and convenient from majority of the trains. 10/10, highly recommended checking them out! P.S. my partner loved them so much that he signed up for their monthly membership and he’s a tough person to please
AIMs provides extremely practical self defense + fighting skills with incredibly knowledgeable instructors in a non-intimidating environment :) I had been originally looking for a cardio boxing/kickboxing place through ClassPass but was instead so impressed by the instructors and curriculum that I signed on for a membership. The instructors are super knowledgeable and fast to correct you; they will also explain why it should be corrected in the context of actual fight. They have a variety of classes under an overarching name but you will learn a specific art (e.g. you might go to a kickboxing class and learn Muay Thai that day, or savate another day); I’ve been trying out most of their classes and enjoy how AIMS teaches you how to do these not only in a controlled setting but how to actually practically apply these if you were to find yourself in a fighting situation. It’s also really fun because you learn how to defend yourself/fight and about body mechanics but you also have a good workout. It’s great for all levels, highly recommend! :)
I've been going for a few months now and find the instructors' mastery of a variety of martial arts and attention to detail when focusing on my technique second to none. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and I have gotten much better at Capoeira specifically in a short time by training at AIMS.
A great variety of martial arts classes. Knowledgeable and friendly instructors that accommodate to your level of skill.
