It’s a great place to learn traditional Aikido. The other students really try and help beginners. You can tell that Sensei cares deeply about the growth and development of his students, in Aikido and in life.
Aikido of Rampo Valley offers a welcoming environment for both adults and children looking for quality martial arts instruction. You'll be greeted by friendly instructors and students in a beautiful facility.
I enjoy practicing Aikido at this dojo very much!! Sensei and all other members give me positive energy and help me to improve my skills with good spirit.
Very professional and friendly teachers and nice atmosphere, my son enjoyed the time here, he made friends here also.
I have trained on and off here over the years and it’s much more than a dojo, but also a great group of people and friends. They teach the history of Aikido, both the beautiful as well as the martial sides of the art, problem deescalation, self defense, and is a great way to remain or become healthier both physically and mentally.
My son attended for 2 years and really loved his experience here. He was welcomed heartily, and he learned so much!! I love the teachers, and it was great that the kids got to get a new belt on a regular schedule...not too short of a time, and not too long for a kid to wait. I think it was an excellent experience; he learned not only how to move and balance and perform the movements, but there was an element of respect gained that I really appreciated. I highly, highly recommend this Dojo!
We're big fans of Aikido of Ramapo Valley. My kid has been attending classes for about 2 yrs now. The kids are great, the senseis are patient and kind, and the place just has a serene feel about it so it's nice to watch the kids practice. Highly recommend it!
This is one of the best Dojos in the United States. Eran Vardi Sensei comes from a lineage of the most respected Aikido masters, and his dojo provides great opportunity for serious practitioners to study the art of Aikido. They also have great kids program. Highly recommended!
Sensei and his wife run are incredible teachers and people. They are extremely flexible and have taught both of our children (ages 15 and 9) lifelong skills of self defense and pure focus. We are very thankful for the opportunity our children have received with the Aikido of Ramapo Valley school and know that our children will be safer in this world because of what they have learned. We would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone at any age.
My son and myself both attend this dojo. The environment is clean, organized, and the instruction is world class. I would highly recommend going to this dojo if you would like to learn the amazing martial art of aikido. From weapons to hand to hand combat, Vardi Sensei covers all aspects of the martial art. I’ve been practicing the art for 9 years and this dojo is enriching my aikido like never before.
I recently visited Aikido of Ramapo Valley to watch a class, I must say I was impressed. The location is a little difficult to find but should be no trouble with directions. Upon arriving I hung up my shoes and took the stairs up to the dojo. The mats are well cleaned and the décor is beautiful. Walking into the dojo for the first time made me question if I was really still in New Jersey. Additionally the facility has a bathroom and a water cooler for anyone to use. Sensei is nice, welcoming and very insightful. Sensei was egger to help his students and has so much passion for Aikido. If you are looking to learn how to be a fighter this dojo is probably not the best fit. However, if you are looking for a peaceful traditional marshal art I would strongly recommend checking out this dojo, I can not stress how nice and welcoming they are here.
Probably the best Aikido Dojo there is. Sensei Eran Vardi is not only an excellent instructor, but fully embodies the philosophy of this beautiful martial art.
ARV is a fantastic place to safely train martial arts I trained here for about 3 years and learned how to defend myself, move, and meditate which has helped me professionally and personally. They have top notch instructors that are experienced and will meet you wherever your skill level or age. Alot of students are very skilled aikidoka and are extremely patient/helpful as you learn these powerful techniques. I visit whenever I can.
A good place to learn Aikido for all ages. I personally started around the age of 7, in 2006, and since then I have grown more in my learning of Aikido. I've practiced my way to first kyu, which is the rank before shodan (black belt). Since I started young, I went through the kids program first before transitioning to the adult class. Now there is also a teens class for those who are too old for the kids class, but are also uncomfortable with the adult class. Whether you are 6 or even 60, there is no too late to join mindset. Everyone of all ages can learn something here, and it is a good place to also get your cardio workout done. It gives a physical and mental workout, which is all beneficial to the body in the end.
Whether you want to learn to practice Zen or martial arts, or maybe both, if you're in the area, this is a place to check out. Friendly environment with highly experienced instructors make this a great place to practice this beautiful and dynamic art.
I really loved this place, and I'm upset that my schedule has stopped me from going back. The instructors are professional and welcoming. The community here was also extremely nice during my time there. If you are interested in picking up Aikido, practicing meditation, or meeting some really nice folks from the surrounding area, I would highly recommend sitting in on a lesson and giving this place a shot.
A great location to practice Aikido. Sensei Vardi is a great teacher with a lot of experience and big commitment to all his students. The practice is open to all level of expertise and I regularly share the practice with people from 4th dan to beginners that just started. I also take my kid to the special kids classes which are offered twice a week. Overall, highly recommended.
