If you live in Houston then you live near one of the GREATEST BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU PLAYERS ON THE PLANET. I’m visiting from Denver and took the opportunity to train with Professor Dentinho. He is an amazing teacher and HOUSTON is very lucky to have someone of his caliber. GO TRAIN AT ACTIVE JIU JITSU.

One of the best Martial Arts gyms I have ever been to, both for me, and for my children. Professor Rose has been such an excellent instructor and leader, as well as Coach Zane and many of the other coaches. They have an excellent system that keeps the students engaged and learning essential skills while also having a lot of fun. I also have to give credit to Professor Detinho who has done an excellent job empowering his students to participate in the teaching process. I've been a student in the beginners class for a few months now, and the system they have in place to teach new skills has been excellent and has helped me strongly reinforce concepts with muscle memory. I wish the Active Jiu Jitsu team continued success in the future, as they have been doing an excellent job all around.

This place is absolutely amazing! My 4 year old daughter started here earlier this year and loves it. Professor Rose and the entire Active team fosters a very welcoming and collaborative environment for kids to learn the basics of Jiu Jitsu. Every session hits all the checks you want to see in a martial arts studio. They’re fun, technique-driven, and filled with exercises that can be practiced at home. In addition to that, professor Rose takes time to teach her class on how to treat others with respect and when to (and when not to) use Jiu Jitsu in certain situations. I highly recommend Active JJ if you’re looking for a studio to get involved in.

I literally couldn’t say enough good things about Active Jui juitsu. This is not just a business this is a family 💗 they were so kind with my son. At first he didn’t want to do it and they allowed us to keep taking him for him to watch & keep getting comfortable. My son now loves going to class and looks forward to seeing the coaches. The feeling we get when we walk thru is a feeling of family and for that we are grateful. 🫶🏼

Professor Rosa was kind enough to let me drop in while I was visiting Houston. The training and instruction were top notch, and everyone I met went out of their way to welcome me. I would highly recommend this school, and I hope to come back next time I'm in the area.
