Started almost a year ago. Amazing group of people, teammates and a wise and great coach. Everyone is so supportive of eachothers training. It takes time to get used to the pace but once you’re in it you’ll get used to it. Everyday there’s training in the mornings and evenings. Better than just going to the gym.

I've been training all over Lake County IL and ACES Training Center has a great black belt coach, staff, and awesome training partners during the day and night sessions. Very beginner friendly for the young and young at heart.

I've been training at Aces for about a year and a half now, and it has truly had a positive impact on my life. I've lost a noticeable amount of weight and gained confidence in myself. Professor Luis provides a great atmosphere that supports your growth. While jiujitsu may not be for everyone, you get what you put into it. Whether you're looking for a killer workout or looking to compete to test your skills, the support is there. They emphasize technique above all else. Aces offer a free trial to new students who want to try BJJ before committing to a membership, so l encourage everyone to test themselves. You'll wish you engaged in BJJ earlier in your life.

This is a great place to learn and train Jiu Jitsu. Everyone is very accommodating and willing to help newcomers. There are both afternoon and night classes, which can be hard to find at other schools. Highly recommended!

ACES Training Center is such a great place to learn and practice Jiu Jitsu. I've been training here for about a month now. The very first time I walked in I was warmly greeted and immediately felt like I was a part of the community. This place is also very accommodating to those brand new to Jiu Jitsu. I would certainly recommend this place to all regardless of prior Jiu Jitsu skill.

I’ve been training at ACES Training Center since May 2023. I came in for my trial class and was instantly hooked. It has been 7 months now and I look forward to coming into class every time. It is a great workout with a great group of people! Coach Lou is an excellent instructor. He is patient and helps his students understand the various techniques so that they can become better at jiu jitsu. Coach Lou promotes a hard working, yet safe, training environment. I was hesitant about sending my daughter because she’s so shy. But Coach Lou has made her experience there very good and she’s opened up a lot! I can’t wait to see what she does in the future! 100% recommend!

I went to a trial class that they offered and absolutely loved it! They have a super friendly staff and are very knowledgeable. You get lots of work done while having fun. I now go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I am always excited for the next day. They are highly recommended!

I have the opportunity to train at Aces and it is a fantastic experience from start to finish. The friendly atmosphere, our awesome Coach Lou, and supportive training partners make it an ideal place to learn and grow in the art of Jiu Jitsu. Coach Lou is highly knowledgeable and experienced in Jiu Jitsu. He takes the time to provide clear instructions and demonstrations while ensuring the safety and progress of each student, He is always available to answer questions and offer guidance. The classes are well-structured and catered to students of all skill levels, focusing on fundamental techniques and provide plenty of opportunities to practice and refine skills through live sparring sessions. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable training session. The mats are in excellent condition, and all the staff is very kind. I couldn’t choose a better place to train, and I’m very happy to be part of this amazing Gym.
I always leave the gym with a smile on my face after the class, and that speaks volumes about the experience. The environment there is simply fantastic. Although I'm new to learning Jujitsu, every time I attend a class, I feel welcomed and encouraged. Coach Lou and everyone else are amazing, and they pay close attention to the details to ensure effective learning. Additionally, it's an excellent workout and a lot of fun!
Aces training center is a fresh and brand new gym that has given all of its students nothing but the best. The coach is friendly and has the highest expectations for everyone, because he knows a lot of people will grow from this type of environment, if they just push themselves.

I can recommend ACES Training Center because even though I'm only 15, I can easily find myself around older people and everyone is very helpful to others, I also met two new friends thanks to BJJ. Also worth mentioning about the coach who always helps!

Nothing but great things to say about Coach Lou. I personally do not train but seeing the difference it has made in my girlfriend and her daughter is nothing short of amazing! I notice the changes in their energy and level of confidence. Coach Lou is awesome. I love to see how he interacts with his students. He is serious about learning but makes it fun for everyone. Sharla is patient and great with breaking everything down for you to understand when answering questions about membership. Both are very engaged with the students and anyone who steps into their facility even if you are just visiting or dropping someone off. These days customer service skills and presentation of businesses fall short of making people feel welcomed. Thank you Coach Lou and Sharla!
This is the best place to train in the area hands down for both kids and adults! Coach Lou is able to break down techniques in a way kids can understand and makes it fun at the same time. Both my 8 and 5 year old boys train here and they love it!
