We have been going to Aces for about 8 months now. The quality of instruction is top notch. My kids and I look forward to going every week. Furthermore, this is a family owned business. The owners take the time to get to know all of the students personally.

This place is amazing. The instructors are very skilled and know how to teach properly with hands on training. They are good at seeing people's strengths and weaknesses and helping everyone, regardless of class size. They have classes for all ages, and their pricing is great. You will find comparable pricing elsewhere, but not for this world class training.

I had an absolutely amazing time training at Aces Jiu Jitsu Club! From the very first day, I felt welcomed and part of a community. All of the coaches, including Coach Ty and Professor Mikal, were not only skilled but also genuinely invested in helping each student grow. They created a friendly yet challenging environment that pushed me to become better every single class. One thing that stood out to me was the support I received when I needed financial assistance. I was going through a rough time and had trouble paying for my classes, but they kindly provided a temporary freeze so I wouldn’t have to worry about losing my spot or missing out on training. It’s rare to find a place that truly cares about its students’ well-being both on and off the mats. Sadly, I’ll be leaving town soon, so I won’t be able to continue training here. But I’ll always look back fondly on all the memories I made and the skills I learned. Aces Jiu Jitsu Club is a special place, and I’m incredibly grateful for the time I spent with the team. If you’re looking for a top-notch training experience with coaches who truly care, this is the place to be!

I've trained both Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu here for the last two years and have loved it. The coaching staff is great and they live right on the edge of being beginner friendly while still very serious about combat and the art of fighting. If you are serious about either martial art and are looking for an on ramp, I highly recommend this place.

Speaking as a US Army veteran these guys are awesome. Coach Ty is a excellent fighter. These guys will have you fight ready ASAP. I’ve been to many gyms and they are able to train and teach in a way that makes sense and is applicable. There’s also plenty camaraderie that reminds me of the brotherhood I had in the military.

I met the Aces Jiu Jitsu coaches at the Heroes Night Out BBQ, and by just talking to them, I knew Aces was a good place to train. As a veteran with injuries, I find it difficult to find a good place to train. Just with one class, I noticed that Aces was the place for me, and the coaches really take care of the people who train there. I had my first class with coach Ty, and everything was explained from the start, I even got to hear the story of how Aces started. Instructors are friendly and approachable. Environment feels safe, and you feel welcome by everybody training there. They have a variety of class times to help you find a time that works for you.

As a disabled veteran with chronic illness, TBI, and mobility limitations, finding an accommodating gym is tough. But Ace's Jiu-Jitsu Club exceeds expectations - it's an incredibly supportive, inclusive community. From day one, the coaches, especially Coach Ty, made me feel at ease. They modify training to my abilities without judgment. Despite physical limitations preventing competitive rolling/sparring, they patiently guide me towards mental/physical goals. The inviting atmosphere is unparalleled. Higher belts and coaches provide ongoing encouragement, recognizing each accomplishment. As a 90% disabled veteran, I discovered a compassionate, nonjudgmental family at Ace's. It's more than just martial arts instruction; it's also a safe place to recover. I've recovered confidence, made fantastic friends, and highly recommend this inspiring, accepting group.

The door may say Jui Jitsu club but it's so much more. The professor and coaches here really believe in you and work hard to help you reach your goals. The meet you where you are and really listen. It's not just a club but a whole community you gain by walking through the doors. I would recommend to anyone even thinking about popping in for a class to do it! You will not regret any time spent learning, growing, or rolling.

If you're interested in learning self defense, specifically grappling, then this is the place for you. Coach Amador breaks down the movements per class and takes his time explaining the body mechanics on how to submit or avoid being submitted. I really enjoy learning from him and other advanced students even though as a newbie it's unavoidable to get submitted. One class definitely gives you a run for your money and by time class is over, you'll be drenched in sweat. I recommend Aces to anyone to wants to learn self defense whether it's grappling or Muy Thai.

The coaches here are committed to facilitate learning and growing in your martial arts journey. Coach Ty made sure I felt welcome, but didn't baby me when I first came in. I immediately felt like one of the family before I even paid my dues. Some phrases ove heard from coaches and more experienced members were like: "Hey man I'm trying to keep you on the mats, not off them." Also, "Here's to consistent training from here on out." Cannot commend the staff or members of the club enough for their dedication to growth and community. I'm a lifer here.

As others have mentioned extremely shady business practices. I paid upfront for a year before Covid with the coach promising to be motivational and help with accountability. Due to an injury and Covid I was unable to utilize training after 3 months. I did not request a refund but never returned and moved. The coach or anyone from the staff didn’t reach out once. 3 years later they messaged saying I owed money and they were going to send to collections. I see now this is common in their reviews. The classes I did attend were small and not well attended - I assumed this would allow for one on one training but now I think it’s mainly because this company thrives on billing fraud. There are world class gyms in Austin for martial arts. Choose one of those and never sign a contract with this company.

Avoid this gym like the plague. I've trained in MMA for a while now and can tell you this place is corrupt and filled with immature coaches who will hold you back to continue training there and paying them. They look for any possible way to milk you for money. To top it off, if you outperform some of the coaches, they'll start to roll/train dirty. Keep looking if you want a legitimately good MMA/jiu jitsu gym.

My time here was actually enjoyable, but I no longer go to the gym. I stopped going before my year contract was over, but honored the contract and paid for the full 12 months. I have been getting charged for months past the end of my 12 months, and nobody will answer the phone, email, messages, or anything to correct this.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! Aces engages in extremely shady business practices that are not in good legal standing. They will get you to sign a contract without disclosing the cancellation fees and then they will keep your membership “active” without telling you even after you submit your cancellation notice unless you pay them a ridiculous fee. The instructor I worked with blatantly lied about the cancellation fee and pushed me to sign a contract after one “free” class. I haven’t stepped foot in that place in six months and they are trying to collect $300 from me TODAY after I already paid them $245 as an initial deposit. All for one class. Heartless scumbags.

If you are a real martial art enthusiast, stay away from this academy. For some personal reasons, I can not train there anymore and I went only 2 classes and they charged me $400. Before sign up for membership, instructor Tai told me whenever you don't want to train let me know we will let you go without any cancelations fees. When I spoke with owner, they do not care about any verbal agreements. In my personal opinion, it's not the way how to do a business. If you are in Austin, believe me you have so many options to train BJJ. Don't even come for trial class because their salesman will push you to sign up for membership. Please do not repeat my mistakes and don't even come for trial class...

My 5 year old son tried this place as he is peaking interest in more organized sports. We were all excited to try. Great luring tactics this company has been offering “free try outs”. Well, be ware, they won’t let you leave without serious guilt tripping in making you sign a contract. I was personally not inclined. I stepped next door to get food at thunder cloud, to come back and see they had my wife singing paperwork. All while she was clearly distracted with our other 2 years old. Not reading through it with her and just showing her where to sign. At the time, my son seemed excited so it was no big deal. I trust my wife. Well, my son lost interest. Quickly. After 2 classes. Well apparently the contract reads a $300 cancelation fee and since we past the 1st of the month, they are not charging the cancelation, plus the months fee. Does not make a lot of since seeing that they have provided 0 services to my family. I would steer clear of this facility and find opportunity at facilities that are in the business to train and teach. Not gouge you and rip you off in order to create success for their business. They guilted my wife into signing up and tried to guilt trip us into staying. As if leaving was the worse thing I could do for my child. Ridiculous

I have trained at about 50 bjj schools over 20 years all over the world. This is top 5 on my list for sure. This was my review before working there. These guys are totally creepy. They pay their instructors $1400/mo @70hrs a week "plus commission." They offered me $3,500 plus a free room in the Aces Jiu Jitsu house. Turns out my each of my $700 paychecks (140 hrs of work) was garnished $200 for rent without my knowledge. They physically abuse their students for mentioning other schools by picking them up and slamming them. They try and sell memberships at weddings. I have spoken to at least 6 of their former employees. Sociopath is my best description. The stories are so nuts. Run!!!! I have been training bjj for over 20 years. They had me at first, then I saw who they really are.
