85 BJJ is not just an academy it is a family! My son wanted to follow Professor Jose when he opened 85 BJJ, so we drive 30 minutes so he can have the best BJJ experience. He has been with Professor Jose for over 3 years and has LOVED every class, even the hard classes. As a parent I love how everyone here is like family. We all support each other and each other's kids in class and at competitions! Coach Bo and Coach Lee are the best and Professor Jose is top notch. My son has gained confidence and had learned to come out of his shy shell because of jiu-jitsu. We absolutely love 85 BJJ, we love it so much we are here 5-6 days a week.

I absolutely love it here. My son has been participating at this location for about 6 months now and is thriving in BJJ, I’ve also seen a big difference in his behavior as well. The instructors are so patient and gives clear instructions. I like how they take their time to ensure that everyone understands each drill. They focus more on the skill set needed for BJJ than winning competitions. Highly recommend!

I've waited a long time for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school to open in Spring Branch and this schools does not disappoint. They have excellent instructors, a clean and well maintained facility, and an awesome kids and little champions (younger kids) program. My kids started recently and they love it.

My son trained under Professor Jose from ages 4-8. Jose is the epitome of a marital artist and is an excellent instructor. My son grew so much in his confidence, discipline, and martial arts technique through Jose's instruction. You won't regret signing up for classes at 85 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

85 BJJ is an amazing gym. Professor Jose, Coach Lee and Coach Bo do a wonderful job making class fun for my girls. BJJ has quickly become their favorite activity. They have also created family among all their students both young and old. Class isn’t just about learning for yourself, but also helping those around you improve as well. I would recommend this gym 1000%

This is an excellent Academy for adults and kids with a first class family environment. My girls prefer their BJJ lessons over all of their other sports! Professor Jose and his coaches do an amazing job with concept and details that making learning an absolute blast. If you're not coming to 85 BJJ you're missing out!!

Professor Jose Llanas is a true martial artist. His love and dedication for BJJ is felt in every class. My nephews and I have trained at Academia 85 on multiple occasions and always walk away feeling encouraged and confident in our Jiu Jitsu game.

His new facility is very clean and professional and his staff is friendly. I would list 85 jiu jitsu among the top martial arts schools in the Houston area.
