Great Jui Jitsu. Stopped in on work trip
Coach Kyle is amazing! I like the atmosphere of the classes here, everyone's pretty welcoming and friendly for beginners but also very advanced partners to learn from and train with. Mats are great and kept clean. Love that they have noon and evening classes
Great environment for all levels and backgrounds.
What an incredible gym with extremely talented and patient instructors! No egos floating around making it a safe place to learn, especially for beginners! I’ve met tenured practitioners that just started here and still get those “wow” moments during technique breakdowns. I started in April 2024 with no prior experience and got promoted in November 2024. That alone should show how good this gym is at breaking down techniques that’s easily consumable by an average joe like myself! I’d recommend anyone looking to try jiujitsu to start here because you’ll not only get great fundamentals from the instructors, but also your teammates as they’re all friendly and easy-going (don’t be fooled though, they’re all trained killers! Hahah)
I’m from Australia and dropped in for a class during a recent overseas work trip to Bellevue area. 10th planet Seattle were very welcoming and treated me equal to everyone else. The standard of coaching was excellent. Very much enjoyed my time there and hope to drop in again soon!
This gym is high level. I've been doing BJJ for about 7 years and everyone here still beats me up
Visited from out of town. Was welcomed in and attended a great class! Coaches are great and the vibe is good! Hope to come back soon
Joined the 6am class as a drop-in. Great instruction and very welcoming group of people. Excited to train here again whenever I am in the area.
Dropped in here, everyone was super welcoming Nate was fantastic!
Awesome academy! Nate is a fantastic instructor! He brings his high-level competition experience into his instruction. He's always eager to answer questions and help students of all levels. I've done three drop-ins at 10th Planet Seattle and loved every minute of it. Everyone is welcoming and cool to roll with. I highly recommend 10th Planet Seattle to anyone who wants to try jiu jitsu or is already experienced and wants to improve their game.
Absolutely incredible environment. Coaches are patient and kind, and everyone was incredibly welcoming to me when I switched to 10th Planet. Nate is a great coach, with a mind for the spirit of martial arts and what makes jiu-jitsu FUN! Facility is also spacious, with great cleaning protocols.
| A review for fellow beginners / the BJJ curious | I started about 1 month ago with 0 experience and I highly recommend it. Here's what you'll get - extremely knowledgeable instructors, friendly training partners, a spacious, well-appointed gym, and a flexible class schedule. Honestly, if you're like me, you may feel that it's intimidating starting something brand new as an adult with no background in this practice. Coach Nathan and the instructors take the time to break it all down and allow you to learn at your own pace. Plus, all the classmates I've encountered, from very experienced to newbies, are helpful and respectful. Thanks to Nathan and the whole community for putting together a great school.
Great group of guys. I was in town for a day and dropped in, and was treated like a part of the crew and welcomed by everyone. World class instruction and awesome training partners.
I dropped in at 10th Planet Seattle (in Bellevue) for a couple of days while in Bellevue for work. Excellent grappling academy. SUPER clean. Welcoming. Good culture. Diverse. Innovative techniques. This gym is owned and run by Eddie Bravo black belt, Nathan Orchard (who the “Dead Orchard” position was named after). And the curriculum and approach is just as imaginative as you’d expect from such an innovator of the sport. As a visiting white belt with about a year’s experience, I took the beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. Professors Matt, Adrian and Nathan (Owner) were all extremely friendly and helpful and I got a lot out of each class. I would recommend this academy for anyone. For beginners looking to get into no-gi jiu jitsu for the first time, you’ll find a welcoming nurturing atmosphere. For long-time experienced grapplers visiting or looking for a new training home, you’ll find skilled training partners and creative new ways of looking at techniques; perspectives/approaches that are both fun and effective. I hope to visit again next time I’m in the area. Thanks 10th Planet Seattle!
Started 4 years ago and from day 1 this place became a second home. If you wanna learn great jiujitsu without the gi (karate outfit), if you wanna learn how to defend yourself, if you wanna learn martial arts, this is the place to do it.
super amazing gym and great technique, I love everyone and there and they treat me all like family🫶
I dropped in for 3 classes while I was in Seattle on a business trip. The experience was awesome. The head instructor, Nate, is super knowledgable, communicates concepts in a clear and entertaining manner, and is super active in helping out all of the students - beginners included. The gym was clean and the vibe was very positive and friendly. Would highly recommend.
World Class Jiu Jitsu right here in Seattle/Bellevue! Head Instructor Nate Orchard is a legend of the sport and communicates a deep understanding of not only jiu jitsu but the philosophy behind what it takes to become elite in any life pursuit! Every class is full of learning and the intrinsic humility of the art makes for a welcoming environment. 5/5 come see for yourself
its not often that the master teaches fundamentals but In this instance.. he does! Nate is above and beyond an awesome coach and teacher. His lessons extend beyond the sport itself and teaches you lessons in life. whether your getting into MMA or defending yourself on the streets.. theres no better place to go.
Nate orchard was very welcoming and the guys in class were a blast to meet and roll with.
This is a great place for both starters and seasoned people. Nathan Orchard is, as his reputation proceeds him, a great teacher. But, if the odds are you begin you will most likely end up taking the fundamentals class which Nathan does not teach. Instead (the times I have been) Adrian, Casey, and Donnaven will most likely teach it along with Chaz. They are all great instructors who will put as much attention into you as you put into the class. They have great knowledge to share and the advantage of the often smaller fundamentals class if that you can get a more enhanced experience on a specific move. Overall great place to learn👍
Outstanding place to train. The main instructor, Nate, is a skillful and patient teacher. I just came in for a drop in visiting the area. I will be back!
The best atmosphere with a world class instructor. Nate is personable and dedicated to his craft in martial arts and teaching. The people in the academy have been the most welcoming I've experienced.
Nathan Orchard is a killer coach with a savage team. Don't step on the mats without a full tank of gas 🔥🔥
The only spot to train in Seattle. Nate is a modern day samurai
A fantastic place for learning no-gi BJJ
An amazing and welcoming group. Nathan Orchard is an amazing teacher. Always a fun time there.
I visited 10th planet Seattle Yesterday as it was open mat , the first thing that caught my attention was the abundance of parking ( something rare in Seattle) , Nathan was a great host , despite not rolling he was hospitable and just great at making you feel welcome , the gym is reasonably sized and the students are respectful when rolling I definitely had a great time . 10th planet is definitely the place to train in Seattle if you are interested in the No-Gi game.
OMG it is freakin crazy to train here! You get the seminar quality class everyday and it is so worth the price. Just with the moves that I learned from first week got me a win in my first nogi tournament. Coming as a feather weight girl, it is pretty friendly environment and guys are not tryna hurt u with their ego lol. Also let me point this out ladies, it was hard for me to make a change to come to Tenth Planet Seattle since I started jujitsu at Gi focused gym where I started my jujitsu journey and developed my jujitsu friends. But I knew deep down in my heart that everyday practice is not really helping me to get better, instead I found myself chatting with my drilling partner. I didn't feel like I was being challenged in any way. If it was my goal to develop a jujitsu community that is supportive and would tell me that I am better than other people even though I am not, then I would have stayed at the gym I was in. BUT, I wanted to be better and get to higher level. Even though it was hard for me to adjust to nogi at first, it came just like a snap and now I love NOGI so much. Jujitsu is jujitsu and nogi will only make your gi game better if gi would be your focus. SO, you should really check out Tenth Planet Seattle! I am there pretty much everyday for night class and I would love to see more of you ladies<3
Have had a great experience here would recommend to anyone new to jiu jitsu. Nathan Orchard is a great instructor & the environment is very positive.
Nathan Orchard is the real deal. The meticulously taught techniques he shares with his students have been successfully implemented by him at the highest of competitive levels. He's an old master masquerading as a wild haired hippy soul.
