Awesome gym was in town and dropped in for a visit. Great vibes and environment very down to earth Instructor with very insightful grappling knowledge definitely check it out if you are in the area!

What an amazing gym! I roll into town every few months and I always make time to train at this gym. I walk in and I’m greeted like an old friend. Coach Passini is awesome! Super guy! There is something special about this place. Can’t say enough great things about this place. If you want to start your BJJ journey, this is the place to do it.
Best no-gi school around. People are phenomenal and coach Josh is the real deal. The sauna and shower are a HUGE plus.

My husband and I dropped in here while visiting family in Chicago this past weekend. Everyone at the gym was very nice and welcoming and coach Josh was great. We really enjoyed the lesson and learned so much in just the one class. The gym is aesthetically very nice and also super clean. We will definitely be back in the future when we are visiting the city.
I have trained at a lot of different gyms. As a life long martial artist and deep ties to the world of Mixed Martial Arts, I can tell you 10th Planet Chicago one of the very best places I have ever trained. Top notch instruction, functional jiujitsu no matter what you are looking for, sport, fitness, self-defense, you are good to go. I love this gym! I traveled to chicago for work, and trained here over the course of two months. Josh Passini is a great guy, a friend to anyone, and a hell of a coach. I loved how long the classes were, and how hard everyone worked. The focus on technique over strength was a huge plus for a small guy like me. The gym looks awesome, and it’s one of the hardest gyms I’ve been to since leaving my own back home. Highly recommend! This place builds badasses!
I dropped into 10th planet Chicago when visiting home and had a great experience. Everyone was immediately welcoming and had no issue finding drilling and sparring partners. Coach Josh clearly has a passion for the sport and fosters a great feel in the gym. There was a huge emphasis on drilling and technique, and in just the few drop in sessions I added elements to my game. I will drop in whenever I am visiting Chicago. The students were all welcoming and happy to share their knowledge with me
Coach Josh is passionate as an instructor. He is super humble. The 10th Planet system has helped me keep my mind busy and not focused on all the noise of life ie social media, etc. Another thing I love about the school is everyone helps each other out. Fun environment, chill, and you get to learn self defense techniques. Highly recommend!

The best jiu-jitsu gym in Chicago. Strong words, I know, but the place can back it up. It's a great, large, space with the best mats and the instruction is second to none. Coach Josh doesn't teach you what he learned years ago, he teaches you the evolution of what he learned. Techniques that he's been using and tinkering with, so that his students are always learning the latest evolution of jiu-jitsu. He teaches his students to beat black belts, not white belts. He does a great job explaining techniques, breaking down the who, what, when, why, and describing the finer points that will make the difference between success and failure. The gym is also a great big family that's very supportive on and off the mats.
I’ve been training with coach Josh Passini for a little over 5 years now. He’s definitely helped me grow into the person I knew I could become and he did this by showing concept of jiu jitsu, wrestling and grappling as a whole. He has a way of using these concepts and applying them to real world concepts, such as work, school, marriage etc. I’ve been able to take what he has given us at the gym, as a family and apply this to my own personal life. I’m glad I walked into this gym 5 years ago, because it was the best thing I could have done for myself. As well as my family and the people around me. WOW! Talk about a gym that has something to offer to everyone! Head coach Josh Passini has a wide range of knowledge which is easily fitted into a outstanding grappling program. Josh's life background of wrestling, to mma fighter, bouncer, and jiujitsu practitioner allows him to taper his criteria to all of his students from law enforcement, military, mma and jiujitsu fighters/competitors, to hobbyists and adults looking for a fun outlet. The gym itself is quite large, clean, well kept, with brand new mats, and a five person sauna! I have been with Josh for nearly three years and would say 10th Planet Chicago will leave you with a gym experience like no other. The prices are more than fair for what is offered. If you are in Chicago or surrounding suburbs this is the place to go!
I credit Josh and 10th Planet Chicago with changing my life for the better. I was able to lose weight, learn techniques, successfully compete, and gained lifelong friendships through the gym. Couldn’t recommend the gym more!

Joining 10th Planet Chicago has arguably been the best decision of my life. The familial community Josh and the team have built over the years is really something quite special. Since my first day of joining, Josh and the team have welcomed me with open arms and everyone continues to show a true passion of building up and improving all team member’s on their Jiu Jitsu journeys so that we all become better practitioners and better people together. Additional mat space and a brand new, spacious sauna has also recently been added to the gym so there’s lot of space to get work in as well as take some time for recovery. If you have even the slightest interest in combat sports and/or enhancing your life, I can’t recommend a better place!
Best in the business. I was away from martial arts for several years and tried multiple gyms in my area to get back into it. None of them were great fits for me. One trial session at this location and I knew right away I found my new home. Josh is a great teacher, the guys treat you like family, and I'm beyond happy to have stumbled into this place that night.

I travel a lot with my job so train at various gyms. Hands down this the best place I've trained at. Mike and his students were extremely welcoming, friendly and courteous. The standards there are very high and they have no issues helping along a newbie like myself. The gym is modern and immaculately clean. I cant recommend this place enough. Will be back soon.

This is truly a great place to learn and have fun!! Everyone is extremely friendly, and I felt welcome from my first class. Josh, the head instructor, has the body of knowledge and a rare talent to teach and explain the nuances of the technique practiced in the 10th planet system. I found that even as a complete newbie, Josh and other members, made it simple enough for me to learn quickly and have fun doing it. Every class is filled with detail technique, punctuated by fun stories and lots of laughs, which makes this melting pot of cool weirdos, feel much more like family. My only regret is that I haven’t visited this place sooner. Also, to my surprise, this place is quite inexpensive. There is no special dress code, and you can practice in your usual shorts/shirt.
I joined 10th Planet Chicago about a year ago when I moved to Chicago. This is my home away from home now. I recently moved closer to the gym so that I could spend more time there. They say the hardest part of Jiu Jitsu is walking through the door. This room full of monsters may seem scary at first, but I promise that they are the nicest people on the the planet. In the words of Eddie Bravo, “we’re a bunch of nerds playing games of death.” If you want to be surrounded by a tribe of savages then come try a couple classes. We will teach you how to choke fools.

Josh is a kick ass instructor. Everything is explained clearly and thoroughly. The people here are amazing and always willing to help the progress of everyone in the room. The class schedule caters to anyone's lifestyle. For example I work a 9-5 and am able to get a solid mix of fundamental and advanced technique throughout the week. The vibes are welcoming and the team feels like just that, a team. Aside from the gym being awesome and the instruction being awesome Jiu Jitsu itself has changed my life. I no longer have crippling anxiety or depression and its all because of this place. Could not recommend this spot enough.

Josh is a great instructor. This is the place to train no gi jiu jitsu if you are in the area. He has some very solid and talented competitors as well. We took a traincation here a little while back and I had the best time!! As soon as I stepped foot on the mat I felt right at home. We would like to make it back soon! If you are just driving through or if you're looking or an awesome new school to be a part of, this is the place for you. :)
I recently visited 10th planet Jiu Jitsu Chicago North during my work related trip to the area. I was looking for a bjj gym to train at and contacted Josh via email. He replied and said it was ok to stop in and train and he gave me the address of their new facility. They have a late night training session which worked out great for me. It was my first time to a 10th planet facility and I was really impressed with the quality of training and the atmosphere they provided. They welcomed me as a drop in student. The drilling was based on some cool techniques and when we rolled I found the guys tough and technical. It was really good training and I'm glad I had the chance to stop in. By the time I left I felt like a regular and if I lived in Chicago I definitely would be. Next time I'm in Chicago I will definitely stop in again!
Today will be my first day,i cant wait for it i never wrestled in high school i feel its a major part of jiu jitsu that most school dont offer wrestling. Im a 2 stripe white belt so take it easy on me lol just kinda.
