Rahway is one of the most regular BJJ tournament stops in New Jersey, largely thanks to Grappling Industries, which holds its Grappling Industries New Jersey event here several times a year. Most competition in the city runs under that banner.
NEWBREED Ultimate Challenge also comes to town for its Rahway Winter Championship and New Jersey Winter Championship, and United Grappling has run New Jersey events here too. October is the busiest month, followed by April, December and February.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are offered in equal measure, and close to half of events include an absolute division. Kids divisions are common, appearing at around four in ten events. Round-robin brackets under house rules are typical, and entry usually costs around $25โ$145 depending on how many divisions you enter.
