Oklahoma City is the busiest BJJ tournament city in Oklahoma. The American Grappling Federation is a major presence with the AGF Oklahoma City Open and AGF Oklahoma State Championships, and NEWBREED Ultimate Challenge runs the NEWBREED Oklahoma City Fall Championship and Samurai Series.
Other recurring events include the Invictus Games Oklahoma, United Grappling Oklahoma, NAGA Oklahoma, Red Dirt Grapplefest and the Sooner Slam. Some events in the area are held in nearby Norman.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are each offered at just under half of events, and around a third include kids divisions. A little over a quarter have an absolute division. Entry starts at around $50 at a typical event, with larger championships costing more. October is the busiest month, followed by September, April, March and November.
