Greenville is one of the main BJJ tournament locations in South Carolina's Upstate, with an occasional event in nearby Woodruff.
Newbreed is the dominant organizer, running the Newbreed Greenville Winter, Summer and Fall Championships, the Newbreed South Carolina State Championship and the Newbreed American Cup. Other events held in Greenville include The Ultimate Grappler Finale, Ascend Next Gen League and Southern Combat League Battleground.
Around half of events offer Gi divisions and around half offer No-Gi, and many include an absolute division. Some events also run kids divisions. With Newbreed holding seasonal championships, there are events across the year, and winter is a particularly regular time to compete.
