Brownsville has a small BJJ tournament calendar in the Rio Grande Valley, with some events also held in nearby Harlingen. The RGV Open in Brownsville is the most frequent event. Garden Warrior Jiu-Jitsu and Combat Sports Academy has hosted the Boo-Jitsu Festival and Tournament, and RECON has run its Grappling Series here.
Events include Gi, No-Gi and kids divisions, and some offer an absolute division. Entry typically costs around $40–$80.
