This event features 2 guaranteed $1,000 cash prize No-Gi divisions: Expert (Brown/Blacks) and Intermediate (Blue Belt) -185lbs divisions. In addition, all other divisions will follow our standard payout structure, with prize money based on the number of competitors in each bracket, up to $1,000 per division.

This event includes 2 guaranteed cash prize divisions plus standard divisions with payouts based on bracket size.

Guaranteed Cash Prize Divisions

The following two featured divisions each have a guaranteed $1,000 payout to 1st place:

  • Intermediate - Blue Belt No-Gi – under 185 lbs 
  • Expert - Brown and Black Belt Belt No-Gi – under 185 lbs

These two divisions are guaranteed regardless of bracket size.

Standard Division Payouts

All other divisions will pay out based on the number of competitors in the bracket.

Up to $1,000 payout per division, based on the number of competitors. The more athletes who sign up, the more we can give away.

  • 2 Competitors: 1st = $150
  • 3 Competitors: 1st = $225
  • 4 Competitors: 1st = $300
  • 5 Competitors: 1st = $375
  • 6 Competitors: 1st = $450
  • 7 Competitors: 1st = $525
  • 8 Competitors: 1st = $600
  • 9 Competitors: 1st = $675
  • 10 Competitors: 1st = $750
  • 11 Competitors: 1st = $825
  • 12 Competitors: 1st = $900
  • 13 Competitors: 1st = $975
  • 14 Competitors: 1st = $1,000
  • 15 Competitors: 1st = $1,000
  • 16 Competitors: 1st = $1,000, 2nd = $200

βœ… Competitor Guarantee

We want every athlete to have the opportunity to compete. If your division does not fill, you will be able to choose your preference during registration:

  • Move into another weight division
  • Move into a different age division, if available
  • Move into a different belt division, if permitted
  • Receive a full refund if you prefer not to move

This gives every competitor protection. You will either compete within your selected limits or receive your money back.

  • Weigh-ins will take place the morning of the tournament
  • 0.9 lb allowance

πŸ“œ Format & Rules

Match Length

Match times are determined by athlete level:

  • Beginner / White Belt: 5 minutes
  • Intermediate / Blue Belt: 6 minutes
  • Advanced / Purple Belt: 7 minutes
  • Expert / Brown and Black Belts: 7 minutes

Scoring

The event will follow IBJJF scoring rules without advantages.

Points will be awarded only after 3 seconds of positional control, as determined by the referee.

Points System

  • Takedown: 2 points
  • Sweep: 2 points
  • Knee on Belly: 2 points
  • Guard Pass: 3 points
  • Mount: 4 points
  • Back Control (hooks or body triangle): 4 points

No advantages will be used. Only points and penalties will determine the score.

Tie-Break Rules

If a match is tied at the end of regulation, it will move to a 2-minute Golden Score period.

The first athlete to score during Golden Score will be declared the winner.

If no athlete scores during Golden Score, the match will move to EBI Overtime.

EBI Overtime

Athletes will alternate starting from:

  • Back control with seatbelt and hooks only
  • Armbar / Spider-Web position

Each athlete will receive an equal number of attempts, best 2 out of 3.

The winner will be determined by:

  • Fastest submission, or
  • If there is no submission, the fastest escape time

If the match is still tied after overtime, the referee will determine the winner based on overall performance and submission attempts.

NO-GI Ruleset & Modifications

All other technical rules, including legal and illegal techniques, penalties, uniform requirements, and athlete conduct, will follow the current IBJJF ruleset, with the following event-specific modification:

  • Leg reaping is allowed for positional control only
  • Submission attempts from a reaping position are not allowed

Any rule not specifically modified above will default to the official IBJJF rules.
