Welcome to the Versus contender page
Versus Contender is created to have a TRIAL system for athletes who want to participate in the main event of the Versus organization our VERSUS INVITATIONAL.
All athletes will have the chance to show their talent in an event where the champions will get the chance to join upcoming VERSUS INVITATIONAL events. Not only the Versus Contender champions will have the opportunity to compete at Versus Invitational, also athletes who will put up a fantastic show, showing their great skills, will have an opportunity to deserve a spot at Versus invitational. Besides bringing great skill to the table, you have to be attractive to watch, bring audience and be able to promote and sell the event. Show us what you can offer once making your way to the big stage.

Versus Contender Super Fights
Want to get a shot in a Super Fight? Let us know via a DM on Instagram why you should get a chance. Let us know who you would like to face in which division and discipline.
All Super Fight athletes will pay 20 euro as buy-in fee and get 2 free tickets to the show for their supporters team.
THE CONTENDER EVENT WORKS AS A TRIALS EVENT, THIS MEANS YOU ALSO HAVE TO SHOW YOU HAVE GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO GET SUPPORTS WITH YOU. THE MORE THE MERRIER.
Fight duration
- All adult qualifier fights will be 5 minutes
- Adult finals & Super Fights will be 8 minutes
- Juvenile qualifier fights will be 4 minutes
- Juvenile finals & Super Fights will be 6 minutes
- Kids qualifier fights will be 3 minutes
- Kids finals & Super Fights will be 5 minutes
All finals and Super Fights will be divided into two halves.
In the first half, positive points will not be scored, only negative points will be scored (disciplinary penalties). There won't be a break between both halves, so after the first 4 minutes the fight will be continue with the points scoring option.
Rulesets
- All fights are contested under IBJJF rulesets adapted for Versus
Point system
2- Takedown, knee on belly, sweep
3- Guard pass
4- Mount, back mount, back take
Advantage
We will use the black belt ibjjf rulesset according to the submissions, heel hooks are allowed for the adult category.
Juveniles will use the IBJJF BLUE BELT rulesset according to submssions.
Kids will compete with submissions for the youth, according to the IBJJF ruleset.
Golden score
If the match is tied at the end of the regular time of the fight, the match goes to the golden score with a 2 minute limit.
The first athlete to score a point will be declared the winner of the fight without the need for the match to reach the end of time.
Attention: if the match goes to the golden score, the athletes will have 40 seconds to arrange their fighting equipment to start the golden score, if one of the athletes is not ready to restart the golden score, he will be assigned a penalty which will lead him to a defeat.
Fight day
Doors open at 1 p.m..
Weigh-in for all athletes is possible from 1 p.m. Make sure to get your weigh-in done at least 30 minutes before your match starts (keep an eye on smoothcomp).
Final time to do the weigh-in will be 6 p.m.
First fighters have to be ready at 1.50 p.m..
Start of the first match will be 2.00 p.m..
