Description
?? Why VERSUS?
More matches. Less stress. At most tournaments, you lose once and your day is over. Not at VERSUS. Our smart round-robin system gives you at least 4 matches — no matter if you win or lose.
That means: ?? More experience ?? More rolling ?? Better value
If a bracket gets too large, we split it into groups and run a final to keep things clear and competitive.
Back to the essence. We keep it fun, fair, and focused. Good matches, chill vibes, and a positive atmosphere. No hype, no chaos—just real grappling.
Fuel that actually fuels. Expect warm wraps and high-quality açaà bowls, not sad bananas and dry protein bars. Real food for real athletes.
Smooth day, solid setup. We space out matches smartly, communicate clearly through Smoothcomp, and run medal ceremonies right after your bracket ends. You just need to show up and roll.

?? How our system works
- 4 matches per athlete in most brackets.
- Everyone fights multiple times—no “one and done”.
- Large brackets? We split them and finish with a final.
- More mat time, more growth, more fun. Simple as that.

?? Experience Guidelines
At VERSUS, we want to offer fair and safe matches for everyone. That’s why we make clear distinctions between Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels—based on actual grappling experience, combat sports background, and prior results.
Please be honest when selecting your division. Sandbagging (competing below your real level) ruins the experience for others and will always lead to a DQ with no refund.
Division Guidelines:
?? Novice
- Less than 9 months of grappling experience
- No background in other combat sports
- Has not won medals at any previous event
- No cauliflower ears
- No past combat sport experience, even from youth
?? Beginner
- White belt
- 9+ months but less than 2 years of grappling experience
?? Intermediate
- Blue belt
- 2 to 4 years of grappling experience
?? Advanced
- Purple belt or higher
- 4+ years of grappling experience
If you’re in between levels or unsure, move up a division or contact us email.
? Match Duration
- Novice & Beginner: 3:30 minutes
- Intermediate: 4:00 minutes
- Advanced: 5:00 minutes
All divisions run round robin, so we keep match times tight and action-packed.
