VAUGHAN BJJ INVITATIONAL 2026
Vaughan, Canada
Vaughan, Canada
The Vaughan BJJ Invitational In-House Tournament is an in-house event to bring the local jiu-jitsu community closer, introduce new practitioners to competition and to elevate competitive comradery within the bjj competition scene.
The tournament will be hosted at:
130 Racco Pkwy, Unit 5
Vaughan, ON.
DOORS OPEN AT 9AM. WE ARE AIMING TO HAVE THE FIRST MATCHES READY TO GO BY 10AM.
Weigh-ins/Check-ins will be held on August 9th.
Weigh-ins will be in a gi. There will be a 1 pound allowance. If you are heavier than what you are registered, we will try to move you to the next weight bracket. (This causes significant lag in time schedule. Please make sure you are within your weight class.)
Failure to weigh-in, in person will result in automatic forfeiture without a refund.
- With every match won, competitors advance to the next round against another opponent remaining in the upper bracket.
- When a competitor loses a match in the upper bracket, they are not removed from the tournament. Instead, they are moved into a secondary bracket, also referred to as “lower,” “second chance” bracket.
- When a competitor loses their match within the lower bracket, they are officially eliminated from the competition. However, if a competitor wins their match, they continue in the lower bracket to play the next opponent eliminated from the upper bracket.
- Both the upper and lower brackets continue simultaneously until one opponent remains in each of the two brackets. The upper bracket winner will remain as the Champion, while the runner up of upper and lower brackets will fight for 2nd and 3rd Place.
It is recommended that all coaches & competitors familiarize themselves with the current IBJJF rule book for general competition guidelines.
