Experience Divisions
Novice - Less than 9 Months Experience
This division is strictly for competitors who have begun grappling from Sep/Aug 2025 onwards. If you have just started your grappling journey and want to test yourself in your first competition without facing significantly more experienced opponents, this is exactly where you belong. We want this to be fun, fair, and competitive for beginners.
⚠️ ⚠️ We will not tolerate sandbagging of any kind. Any competitor suspected of being significantly above the skill level of this division may be disqualified on the day, at the full discretion of the organising team. A refund may be offered depending on the circumstances.
Intermediate - 9 months+ of BJJ Experience
For experienced grapplers who have put in real mat time. Blue belts and any other coloured belts are not eligible for this division. This is for the white belts who know what they are doing.
Not sure which division you fall into? Drop us a message on our socials before registering, and we will point you in the right direction.
Prizes
Every division will award Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to the top three finishers. On top of that, the university club with the highest combined points across all divisions takes home the overall team trophy.
Who Can Enter
This tournament is open to all university BJJ clubs and university students across Greater London and beyond. Whether you train under a university club like KCLBJJ, UCLBJJ, LSEBJJ, or SOASBJJ, or you are a university student who trains at an external gym, you are welcome here.
Competing from outside London? Come anyway. The more the merrier.
Training at an external gym but studying at university? Drop us a message on our socials and we will work something out. We are flexible and we want as many people on the mats as possible.
Tickets and Registration
Fighters - register and pay via Smoothcomp. Your spot is not confirmed until payment is completed. Do not leave it to the last minute.
Spectators - more of a lover than a fighter? Consider grabbing a spectator ticket → here
⚠️ Spectator tickets are separate from fighter registration. If you are coming to watch and support, please purchase a spectator ticket in advance to guarantee your entry on the day.
⚠️ Please note: by registering for this event as a competitor, you agree to our full waiver of participation and terms of entry, including our right to disqualify any competitor for sandbagging, unsportsmanlike conduct, or misrepresentation of experience or weight. All referee and organiser decisions on the day are final.
Important Notice - Brackets
As registrations continue to come in, please be aware that brackets are subject to change and will be finalised at 1:00 AM on 29th April. After this point, all brackets are locked in and no further changes will be made.
We recommend checking your bracket after 1:00 AM on the 29th so you know exactly who you are up against before you arrive.
Please also be aware that match timings may be subject to delays on the day due to circumstances outside of our control. Come prepared to wait and stay ready. Your fight will never be called early unless both you and your opponent are present and have mutually agreed to compete ahead of schedule.
On the Day

You are in luck, though: there is a huge selection of restaurants and a Sainsbury's Local all within a 3-minute walk. We recommend staying hydrated after ur weigh in and throughout the day.
Competitors are encouraged to bring their own water, snacks, and a change of clothes. The venue will have a warm-up space available before the competition begins, as well as changing rooms.
