This event will be hosting:
Adult Level One Divisions (White Belt Only)
Adult Level Two Divisions (15+ year old Blue, Orange, and Green Belts and previous Level 1 Tournament Winners)
Adult Level Three Divisions (Purple Belts and previous Level 2 Tournament Winners)
Adult Level Four Divisions (Brown and Blacks Belts and previous Level 3 Tournament Winners)
*The Round Robin Divisions will be competed in a Round Robin Format, which means that you will have the opportunity to have a match against all opponents in your division, we are setting bracket limits to 5 entrant which means that if your bracket is full you will compete in 4 matches.*
*Winners of the divisions will be based on most wins in the bracket, if there is a tie in win numbers it will be based on who had a win over the other participant with the most wins, if both participants have equal wins and had a draw in their match the winner will be decided by who had the most submissions, if it is still tied it will be decided by who had the fastest total submission time in matches won by submission ("Submission Time" is determined by total match length in all matches won by submission, i.e. two wins by submission in 1:45 in match #1 and 3:02 in match #2 would be calculated as 4:47 Submission Time, and two wins by submission in 0:45 in match #1 and 1:11 in match #2 would be calculated as 1:56 Submission Time)*
Legal submission techniques and takedowns:
Level One will follow White Belt and Level Two will follow Blue Belt Rules in the IBJJF NoGi rulebook, Books and Videos | IBJJF, with the exception that Level Two will be allowed to perform straight kneebars and alternative grip straight ankle locks suck as Estima Locks, Aioki Locks, and Woj Locks (a straight ankle grip must be maintained, heel slippage is legal and using the body to fold the toes is legal but you cannot grip the heel or toes separately turning them into true heelhooks or toeholds).
Level Three and higher will follow BROWN AND BLACK BELT Rules in the IBJJF NoGi rulebook.
Scoring will work as follows:
Takedown - 2 Points
Reverse to Top Position- 2 Points
Side Control or North South - 3 Points (You do not need to "pass guard" to get these points, a take down into Side Control or North South will score 2+3 if maintained)
Mount - 4 Points (If you pass directly into Mount you will be awarded 4 points)
Back Control - 4 Points (Rear Mount with knees on the ground, Two "Hooks" with chest to back control, or Body Triangle with Chest to Back Control)
*You will not be awarded Side Control or North South points more than once in a "positional series", i.e. passing into side control for 3 points, to mount for 4 points, back to side control will be awarded 0 points, back to mount will be awarded 0 points unless another scoring position or a reset are initiated. i.e. #2 passing into side control for 3 points, to mount for 4 points, back to side control for 0 point, then to back control will be awarded 4 points, back to side control for 0 points, back to mount for 4 points again, in this example the re-mount is 4 point again because the additional scoring position of Back Control was initiated in between the two successful Mounts, however Side Control and North South will not be scored more than once in any positional series.
Overtime:
In the case of a tie there will be a one minute sudden death overtime, first to score or submit wins, in a normal round the match will be declared a draw if there is no score or submission, in the case of a final match we will continue until there is a score or submission to determine a winner.
