SHINZO JIU JITSU CHALLENGE

OPEN GI TOURNAMENT

The ShinZo Jiu Jitsu Challenge is an open Gi tournament designed for all ages and skill levels. Organized by ShinZo Fight Sport & Gracie Barra Guatemala, this event brings together athletes from various academies in a competitive, professional, and high-energy martial arts environment.

The tournament concludes with the ShinZo Invitational, a special evening of featured matchups between selected advanced athletes, starting at 6:30 p.m. Entry to the Invitational is included for all competitors and their companions.

Time: From 8:00 a.m.

Format: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Gi

Divisions:

• Kids, Juveniles, Adults, and Masters
• By age, belt, and weight
• No absolute categories in this edition

Ruleset: IBJJF

SHINZO INVITATIONAL – 6:30 P.M.

At the end of the tournament, all participants are invited to attend the ShinZo Invitational, a showcase of feature matches between advanced athletes from selected academies.

This competitive and educational spectacle, enhanced with lights, sound, and professional production, is designed to inspire the next generation.

Inlcuded in the price for all registered competitors and their guests.

General admission: $20

SPECIAL DIVISION – “FIRST TIMERS”

A friendly division for kids who are competing for the first time.

They will be matched in duos and both athletes will receive 1st place medals.

This format provides a positive and pressure-free introduction to competition.

WEIGH-IN

• Weigh-ins will take place on the day of the tournament, before the athlete’s first match
• All athletes must weigh in wearing their Gi
• Athletes who miss weight will be disqualified with no refund

RULES

• Based on the official IBJJF ruleset
• No dangerous techniques allowed (neck cranks, leg locks, or restricted chokes by age)
• Respect and sportsmanship are strictly required between athletes, coaches, and academies

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The tournament is open to all academies
• No absolute divisions will be held in this edition
• Medals for 1st, 2nd, and two 3rd places in each bracket
• Professional photography and event coverage will be available
