?? SAMURAI SUBMISSION SERIES - OFFICIAL RULESET ??
Welcome to Arizona’s most intense and unapologetically violent grappling event. This is not a point-based tournament. This is war. The following rules apply to all adult divisions unless otherwise stated.
?? GUARD PULLING IS BANNED
- Pulling guard at any point during regulation will result in an immediate DQ.
- Wrestle, throw, or be thrown.
?? SUBMISSION-ONLY FORMAT
- No points. No advantages. No referee decisions.
- ALL submissions are legal at all skill levels, including but not limited to: Heel hooks Neck cranks Bicep/calf slicersTwisters Spine locks
Competitors are expected to protect themselves at all times.
?? MATCH TIMES
- Superfights – 7 Minutes
- Main Event Bracket Matches – 10 Minutes
- Main Event Finals – NO TIME LIMIT
?? MATCH OUTCOMES
- All matches must end in submission.
- If no submission is achieved: Superfights – Declared a DRAW Main Event Bracket Matches – Result in a DOUBLE DQ (both athletes eliminated) Main Event Final – Continues until submission. No time cap.
?? LEGAL ATTIRE
- All traditional grappling attire allowed: Rashguards, shorts, spats, and gis are all permitted. Heel hooks are legal even in the gi — competitors are responsible for their own safety and awareness.
?? STALLING & DISENGAGEMENT
- Continuous disengagement, backing away, or inactivity will result in a warning or being told to stand back up.
- Repeated stalling may lead to a disqualification at the referee’s discretion.
?? CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE
- The winner of the 16-man main event bracket will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
?? COMPETITOR RESPONSIBILITY
- You are responsible for knowing and understanding these rules before stepping on the mat.
- This tournament is for serious competitors only.
