WELCOME TO SAMURAI MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026
This interclub tournament is open to all members from Sengoku Martial Arts.
Kata (Karate)
Perform your kata in front of the judges. At the end of your kata, you'll be given a score for your performance. The highest scores go through. Scores are based on correct movements, quality of stances, spirit or performance, speed, power and form.
Points Sparring (Karate)
This style of competition is open to all members. A 90 second round of fast paced sparring. Three judges will stop the match every time a clean technique is scored. 2/3 judges must of seen the point for it to score. The aim is hit and not get hit! Winner progresses through the tournament.
Light Continuous (Kickboxing)
This style of competition is open to all members. A 90 second round of fast paced body shot sparring. Non stop continuous sparring where the 3 judges make a decision at the end of the round based on control, ability, clean shot landed, evasion and mat control. Winner progresses through the tournament
Bag Blast (Samurais, Kickboxing, Karate)
Fast pace punch bag action. Punch and kick the bag as many times as possible demonstrating great technique, range, precision, footwork and much more. Winners selected after a 90s round.
Tag Sparring (Samurais)
A great event for the little ones. Let them try there hand at tag sparring. The aim of the game is to land as many tags on there opponent as possible to the correct areas. Target areas are shoulders, stomach, and legs.
Blaze Pods Racing (Samurais, Karate and Kickboxing)
Race against others in your category and test your speed, endurance and reaction time in this race against your competitors.
Ninja Warrior Course (Time Trial)
Race against others in your category on our Ninja Warrior Course. The winner is the competitor with the quickest time.
What to expect
- Registration closes on Thursday 30th April. The tournament is on Sunday 3rd May at Sengoku Martial Arts, 12-14 Station Lane, Featherstone, WF7 5BE
- Smooth comp tournament software (the registration website) provides the tournament brackets, running orders and all results of the event. You'll be able to log in to your account here and see in real time when your section is about to start.
- Event starts at 10:00am. Samurais and Karate at 10am. Kickboxers and boxers from 2pm
- Spectator fee is £8 cash, payable on the day of the event or you can pre-purchase at £5 from our reception desk at the academy.
- If there is no one in your section we reserve the right to merge sections or cancel the section.
- Spectators and Competitors will be expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manor. Spectators must adhere to the spectators code of conduct.
- Sportsman type behaviour might result in you being disqualified from the competition
