With a team of professionals experienced in organizing and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) tournaments, our goal is to deliver an unforgettable experience for athletes, coaches, and families.
We ask all coaches, athletes, and parents to read the event instructions carefully, including the other tabs (Weigh-Ins, Uniforms, and Competition Day) to ensure a smooth and organized event.
📅 PRIME BJJ SERIES 2025 SEASON EVENTS
The Prime BJJ Series features 4 events per season, with a unique ranking system for both academies and athletes. For the first time in British Columbia, an organization will award athletes at the end of a competitive season.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ATHLETES & COACHES
🪪 Identification & Registration Requirements
We may request a valid ID if there is any suspicion of inaccurate registration. Any discrepancy between your registration and actual information will result in disqualification and possible suspension from future events.
- All athlete registrations must be accurate, including the correct rank level, age, and gender.
- Any suspected discrepancy may require verification with a government-issued photo ID.
- IBJJF ID cards are accepted for verification.
- Judo brown/black belts, as well as experienced wrestlers, Greco-Roman, or MMA athletes (amateur or professional — including kids), are not allowed to compete in White Belt divisions.
1️⃣ Registration
- Registration Opens: MARCH 28, 2026
- The first 150 athletes to register will receive a complimentary event T-shirt.
Prices (Gi or No-Gi):
- Early Bird: $90 — March 28, 2026 to April 26, 2026 (or until 350 registrations)
- Regular: $105 — until May 31st , 2026 (or until 500 registrations)
- Late: $130 — until June 24, 2026 (or until 600 registrations)*
Second Division Discount Example:
- Gi = $90 (early bird)
- No-Gi = $90 – $60 = $30
- Both divisions = $120 (early bird total)
Registration Deadline: June 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM — NO EXCEPTIONS
2️⃣ Division Changes & Cancellations
- To change or cancel your registration, log into your Smoothcomp account.
- Refund deadline: 95% refund until 05/31/2026 11:59 PM
- After refund deadline we will issue a coupon: 95% refund until 06/24/2026 11:59 PM
- Cancellations allowed until March 24.
- Division changes allowed until March 25.
- If you are alone in your bracket, you’ll receive a 100% refund, even after the deadline — please do not cancel your registration, or we lose the record and ability to refund in Smoothcomp.
- Wait until brackets are finalized, as some divisions may be merged.
- No changes allowed after June 25, 2026, unless it’s a staff error.
3️⃣ Competition & Bracket Format
Youth & Juvenile Divisions
- Double elimination format — all competitors get a second chance through repechage for bronze.
Adult Male Divisions (White, Blue, Purple) — Gi & No-Gi
- Single elimination format.
- Athletes from these divisions may register for the Absolute category.
Adult Female Divisions (White, Blue, Purple) — Gi & No-Gi
- Single elimination format.
- Athletes from these divisions may register for the Absolute category.
Adult Male Brown & Black Belts
- Brown and Black belts compete separately.
- Three weight divisions: Under 165 lbs / Under 185 lbs / Over 185 lbs
- Single elimination format.
4️⃣ Checking Your Status
- Before the registration deadline, verify your division under the registration tab on Smoothcomp.
- Consult your coach to choose the best weight and skill division before registering.
- Kids registered early should double-check their weight closer to the event (by Nov 12) and make adjustments if needed through their Smoothcomp account.
5️⃣ Spectators
- Admission Fee: $10
- Kids under 15: Free entry
- Athletes: Free entry
- Parents of youth competitors: Free entry with athlete
Please remain in spectator-designated areas. Only staff and active competitors may enter the competition area.
6️⃣ Admissions
All athletes, coaches, and spectators must check in with admission staff before entering the venue.
- One entrance line will be designated for athletes, coaches, and parents of youth competitors.
- A separate table will handle spectator admissions and fee collection.
7️⃣ Coach Credentials
- Coaches do not need to pay admission and will receive a wristband for identification.
- Wristbands grant access to coach in permitted competition areas.
Credential Limits (per academy location):
- Up to 10 athletes — 2 credentials
- Up to 20 athletes — 4 credentials
- Up to 30 athletes — 6 credentials
- Over 30 athletes — 8 credentials

8️⃣ Parking
Parking is managed by BCIT. Please ensure you pay the parking fee at their kiosk to avoid tickets.
9️⃣ Photos, Videos & Livestream
- Spectators are welcome to take photos and videos from the stands.
- Official event photographers will capture action shots and podium photos — available later on our Instagram and Facebook pages.
- All matches will be livestreamed and later uploaded to our YouTube channel.
