With a team of professionals with extensive experience in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ) competitions, our goal is to offer an unforgettable event. Coaches, athletes, and parents, please read the event’s instructions thoroughly, including the other tabs beside (Weigh Ins, Uniforms, and Competition day)
The Prime BJJ Series provides 4 events per season with a unique ranking system for academies and athletes. For the first time in British Columbia, an organization will award athletes at the end of a season. Prime BJJ Series general information for athletes and coaches:
1. Registration:
Registration opens on Sept 27th 2025.
The FIRST 150 athletes to register will receive a complementary event t-shirt.
Prices for Gi or NoGi are:
· Early Bird – $90.00 from , Sept 21st 2025 to Oct 12th 2025 or until we reach 350 registrations
· Regular registration – $105 until Nov 2nd, 2025 or until we reach 500 registrations
· Late registration – $130.00 until Nov 11th, 2025 or until we reach 600 registrations
Discount for a second division will be added at the checkout. For example:
· Gi = $90.00 (early bird)
· NoGi = $90.00 – $60.00 = $30.00
· Registration for both divisions = $120.00 (early bird)
Registration deadline on Nov 19th at 11:59pm. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2. Division changes or cancellation:
Log into your smoothcomp account if you need to change your division or cancel your registration. Cancellation for any reason is refunded 95% until the day before the last day of registration, being 5% the service fee to cover costs.
If you are alone in your bracket, we will refund you 100% even after the cancellation deadline.
We strongly suggest you wait until we finish organizing the brackets, as some divisions will be combined. No changes will be allowed after the deadline (12th Jun) unless it’s a staff error.
3. Competition and brackets format for Gi and NoGi:
Youth and Juvenile divisions – It’s a double elimination event. Everyone has a second chance going to repechage and go up to the bronze medal.
Adults’ White, Blue and Purple belt divisions (male) Gi and NoGi – Single elimination for all divisions. All participants from White, Blue and Purple belts can register for the absolute.
Adults’ White, Blue and Purple belt divisions (female) Gi and NoGi – Single elimination for all divisions. All participants from White, Blue and Purple belts can register for the absolute.
Adults’ Brown and Black Belts divisions (male) – Brown and Black belts fight separated. For these belts there are only 3 weight divisions – Less than 165 lbs , less than 185 lbs, and above 185 lbs. It is also a single elimination event.
4. Checking your status:
Please, click on the registration tab a couple of days before the changes deadline to see if you are registered in the correct division. We suggest you always talk with your coach to choose the best options prior to your registration regarding your choice of weight division. Kids that registered on the early bird phase, it is important to double check your weight closer to the event’s deadline (Jun 11th) to make the appropriate changes. Reminding you can make any changes by logging into your Smoothcomp account.
1. Spectators:
Spectator fees: $10 onsite, cash only. Kids under 15 years old have free entry. Athletes have free entry. Any athlete competing in youth divisions can bring their parents who will have free access to the event.
Please stay in the areas reserved for spectators. Competition area is only allowed for staff and competitors transitioning to their mat areas.
2. Admissions:
Athletes, coaches and spectators will have to go through our admission staff prior to entry the event. We will have one section for Athletes, coaches and parents accompanying youth athletes and another table exclusive for spectators to collect the admission fee.
3. Coach credentials:
Coaches don’t need to pay entry fee and will receive a wrist band for easy identification inside the venue and this will give access to coach in the competition area for permitted divisions.
· Registration period: from May 30th to Jun 11th. Please, email info@primebjjseries.com with your coaches' list.
· Credentials are counted by academy location, not affiliation teams.
Up to 10 athletes – 2 credentials
Up to 20 athletes – 4 credentials
Up to 30 athletes – 6 credentials
Above 30 athletes – 8 credentials.
4. Parking:
BCIT charges for parking. Make sure you pay the parking fee on their kiosk to avoid tickets.
5. Photos, videos, and live stream:
You can use your cameras from the spectator’s area. Our event will have photographers for official pictures around the mats and for podium pictures. All pictures will be posted on our Instagram or facebook pages after the event.
You will also be able to watch all fights through our live stream. The whole competition will be posted on our YouTube channel after the event.
6. Accommodation:
There are several hotels in the Area, we are working on deals and will post updates as we get them.
