REGISTRATION

We strive to ensure that our events can comfortably accommodate as many participants as possible. However, in order to maintain a high standard of quality, there is a maximum capacity limit.

PBJJF reserves the right to close registrations once maximum capacity has been reached or on the published registration deadline, whichever occurs first.

Providing false information during registration, including but not limited to date of birth, may result in immediate disqualification. Such actions may also lead to suspension or permanent exclusion from future PBJJF events.

WEIGH-IN

The weigh-in remains open throughout the event and is available as soon as the scales are opened.

However, priority will always be given to divisions that are closest to competing in order to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.

Until 11:00, weigh-ins will be conducted exclusively for youth divisions, as these are always the first to compete. After 11:00, weigh-ins become available to all athletes, while priority will continue to be given to those whose matches are approaching.

For some events, an early weigh-in may be offered at a date, time, and location determined in advance. When applicable, this information will be communicated a few days before the event via email and PBJJF’s official social media channels.

An early weigh-in does not automatically replace the weigh-in on the day of the event unless expressly stated by the organization. However, athletes who successfully complete the early weigh-in will not be required to weigh in again on competition day.

We strongly recommend that all athletes monitor official communications for updates and announcements.

REFUND POLICY

Registration fees are non-refundable.

Athletes who request to cancel their registration up to seven (7) days before the event date will receive a credit voucher equal to the full registration fee, redeemable for any future PBJJF tournament. Requests made after this deadline will not be eligible for either a refund or a credit voucher.

PBJJF cannot guarantee the participation of all registered athletes. If an athlete has no opponents in their division, the organization will make every reasonable effort during the event to arrange a super match against an athlete with the closest possible characteristics, taking into account factors such as weight, age, belt rank, and competitive experience.

As the athlete no longer has opponents in their original division, it may not be possible to guarantee an opponent with characteristics identical to those expected within the registered bracket.

Any proposed super match must be accepted by both athletes. If an athlete declines a super match that the organization considers reasonably compatible, no refund or credit voucher will be granted.

If the organization is unable to find a suitable opponent for a super match during the event, the athlete will receive a credit voucher equal to the full registration fee, redeemable for any future PBJJF tournament.

ATHLETE RESPONSIBILITIES & SCHEDULES

Athletes are responsible for knowing and complying with the rules and guidelines of the sport. Please consult the event schedule to determine when you must be present at the venue, ready to compete, and in the warm-up area.

Competitors must be at the venue and ready to compete at least one hour before the scheduled start time of their division, as the tournament may run ahead of the published schedule.

All start times published in the event schedule are approximate and may be subject to change throughout the day due to circumstances beyond the organization’s control.

MEDALS & TROPHIES

Athletes who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their division will receive a medal during the event.

All medals must be collected at the podium during the event. PBJJF will not ship medals that are unclaimed or lost after the conclusion of the tournament.
