Weigh in for adults is from 9am - First fight commences at 10am sharp.
Ready to test your skills in the cage? Leitrim Novice MMA Championship is an opportunity for novice, or early stage amateur fighters to gain experience in a safe environment and to gain experience inside the cage. Compete in a safely run novice MMA event with professional refereeing ensuring fairness and a cageside medic prioritising your safety. It's your chance to experience the thrill of competition in a controlled and supportive environment!

Experience level
BEGINNER: 0-3 Novice MMA matches or less than 2 years combat sports experience
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED: 3+ Novice MMA matches, 1+ Amateur MMA matches or more than 2 years combat sports experience
We aim to have multiple matches for all competitors
Any competitor found to be entering beginner where they should be intermediate/advanced due to criteria stated will be disqualified on the day.
Rules
Adult MMA -
3 x 3minute rounds
Straight foot/achilles lock is the only leg submission attack allowed
No twister or neck cranks
Knees to body allowed standing and on the ground, but no shots to the back at all
No ground and pound to head
Referee can stop fights due to timidity/overmatched
Fights with nosebleeds will be allowed to continue unless the cut team and/or referee deem the bleed too excessive
Weight classes
Adult weight classes are done under official unified weight classes - bantam, feather, light etc

Normal price is €38
Credit for next event given in the event of no match up being available, we will try our best to match all.
Any pull outs/cancellations before midnight Thursday 21st May will be given a credit for future event, any cancellations after this will at the fighters expense.
Free entry for 2 coaches per team(3 coaches if the team have 3 or more fighters)
Spectators - €10 each cash, sum up or revolut accepted

What happens if a competitor enters the wrong experience level?
Any competitor found entering beginner when they should be intermediate/advanced under the stated criteria will be disqualified on the day.
What are the adult MMA match rules?
Adult MMA matches are 3 x 3-minute rounds. Straight foot/achilles lock is the only leg submission attack allowed; twisters, neck cranks, ground and pound to the head, and shots to the back are not allowed.
What happens if no match-up is available or a fighter cancels?
Credit for the next event is given if no match-up is available. Pull-outs or cancellations before midnight Thursday 21st May receive credit for a future event; cancellations after this are at the fighter's expense.
How many coaches can enter for free?
Two coaches per team get free entry. Teams with 3 or more fighters receive free entry for 3 coaches.
