Description
Spectators will be $10 at the door.
Junior matches will start at 9 AM. Adult matches will start around 12 PM.
For this event, competitors must wear Gi's. However, the ruleset is much different than regular Gi rulesets are.
The competitors must start with their uniform on and belt tied properly, but after the match starts, the competitors can take their belts and Gi tops off either to discard them or to use them against their opponent.
The referee will not stop matches if belts or Gi tops fall off.
Matches will be 5 minutes submission only, (3 minutes for Juniors). If there is no submission by the 4 minute mark, a simulation/training weapon will be placed into the arena by the referee.
At the 3 minute 30 second mark (1 minute 30 seconds for Juniors), the table worker will flip a coin which will determine whether a sim knife or sim gun will be placed into the arena.
The sim weapons we will be using are soft rubberized material. The prop gun will not have an accessible trigger guard to keep fingers safe.
To clearly indicate a win with a sim gun, the competitor must point in the direction of the opponent and audible say "Bang!"
To clearly indicate a win with a sim knife the competitor must GENTLY touch the opponent in the torso or neck.
The referee will call the match promptly when there has been a clear indication of win with a prop weapon.
Remember to be a good sport and have fun! Afterall, this is the most fun and exciting ruleset out there by far!
We encourage competitors to add to the fun and play dead for a second if you know you're beat.
There will be absolutely no striking allowed with the sim weapons. This will be grounds for immediate disqualification and a lifetime ban, zero tolerance.
All submissions legal for adults. No heel hooks, toe holds, knee bars, scissor takedowns, or slams for the Juniors, and the Juniors will only be allowed to wrap belts or Gi tops around opponent one time, not multiple wraps.
