EVENT DETAILS:
• Day of Event: Sunday, November 23, 2025
• Location: Japanese Cultural Center, 2454 S Beretania St. Honolulu, HI 96822
• Parking: $8 paid parking is available at the JCCH parking structure.
• Awards: Medals for podium winners. Complimentary gift bags including a backpack, water bottle, stickers, and a delicious bento will be provided for all registered athletes sponsored by Shutaku and Dell's Kitchen.
REGISTRATION PRICING
- $40 - Early Bird Registration ends 10/4/25.
- $60 - Normal Registration. Register between 10/5/25-10/24/25.
- $80 - Late Registration. Register between 10/25/25-11/2/25
- All competitors need to be registered and paid by November 2, 2025. Registrations are not accepted at the tournament.
- Spectators: Black Belts and Children under 12 are free. All other spectators are $10
- Coaches: 1 coach allowed free per athlete, max 3 coaches per team.
The amount you are charged is based on when you actually pay not when you entered your information into the system. If you entered your information during the normal registration timeframe and selected to pay later, then you paid during the late registration period, the late registration price is what you will be charged.
EVENT SCHEDULE:
November 16, 2025: Brackets will be posted by 12:00pm HST
November 23, 2025:
• 9:00 AM - Doors open
• 9AM-10AM - Weigh ins for age groups 6-9
Athletes must weight in at least 1 hour before their scheduled match.
Weigh ins will be conducted WITH GI.
• 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Matches for age groups 6-9
• 1:00-2:00 PM Tournament Lunch Break / Weigh ins for age groups 10-15
• 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Matches for age groups 10-15
• 5:00 PM - Tournament Close
FORMAT:
• Gi only tournament
• Match Length
- Age 6 (2 minutes)
- Ages 7-9 (3 minutes)
- Ages 10-15 (4 minutes)
• No Overtime: If there is no submission and the points are tied, a referee will decide the winner based on their attempts to win during the match.
• Brackets with 2 competitors will be single elimination. For brackets of 3 competitors, they will compete in a 3 play comeback format. For brackets of 4, there will be 2 matches for each competitor and athletes will compete for third place.
• Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for each divisions

The last day to make changes to your registration is November 9, 2025. Changes in your weight or division can be made from your Smoothcomp account. Instructions to do this can be found HERE.
Refund Policy
- Refunds – Full refunds are available until the late registration deadline. We will make every effort to place athletes into brackets based off of the indicated preferences selected during registration. Athletes who are alone in their division can choose to withdraw with a full refund or withdraw and come to the event to claim their exclusive gift bag (valued at $150).
