ADULTS: $15 admission for anybody who is not competing.

KIDS $6 admission for anybody who is not competing.

1 division = $30 usd

2 division (Gi & No-Gi) = $35 usd

FORMAT:

  • GI and NO GI  TOURNAMENT (KIDS, TEENS AND JUVENILE)
  • Best of 3, Round Robin and Double elimination (at least two matches guaranteed).
  • Compete for third place (no double bronze).
  • In order to have competitive brackets, competitors with no opponents will be moved to another weight/division/skill level.
  • 2 people on the bracket : best of 3
  • 3 people on the bracket : Round Robin
  • 4 or more people on the bracket: Double Elimination

Weight-ins:

SATURDAY: START AT 8:15 AM

Because you are required to weigh in clothed, there will be a 2 LBS ALLOWANCE for all competitors.

Please competitors, try to be around  your assigned mat at least 30 minutes before their scheduled start time. Match times are in real time and should be checked frequently on the day of the event for any updates.

If a competitor does not arrive to the mat within 10 minutes of the first time they are called, they will be marked as a loss and the bracket will advance. This applies for all competitors, but please especially keep this in mind when registering for more than one division.

Weigh-ins:  We suggest that competitors be weighed-in 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for your first division, especially those competing later in the day in case that  we run ahead of schedule.

Because you are required to weigh in clothed, there will be a 2 LBS ALLOWANCE for all competitors.

You will not be allowed to switch divisions the day of the event. All changes and edits to your registration must be made by the edit/change deadline.

If you are unable to make the registered weight before the start of your first match - you will be DISQUALIFIED.

Weight Divisions:

In an effort to create adequate and competitive matches, the rule of thumb is as follows:

1. Kids can be matched between 2 years and 10LBS.

2. Teens can be matched between 2 years and 15LBS

  • KIDS, TEENS AND JUVENILES: 

-45 lbs, -55 lbs, -65 lbs, -75 lbs, -85 lbs, -95 lbs, -105 lbs, -115 lbs, -125 lbs, -140 lbs, -155 lbs, -165 lbs, +165 lbs.

Skill Divisions:

  • KIDS, TEENS AND JUVENILES: 

GI:  - White, - Grey, - Yellow, - Orange, -Green,

NO- GI: Skill levels are primarily by BELT. If you do not have a jiujitsu belt, then you will register based on your years training.

***You are always allowed to challenge yourself by going up in skill level, but you may not go down in skill level.***

Kids (4-12 years old)

Beginner: White belts (or 0-1 years training).

Intermediate: Grey belts (or 1-3 years training).

Advanced: Yellow belts and above (or 3+ years training).

Teens (13-14 years old), Juveniles (15-17 years old)

Beginner: White belts (or 0-2 years training).

Intermediate: Grey and yellow belts (or 2-4 years training).

Advanced: Orange and green belts (or 4+ years training).

MATCH LENGTHS:

Kids (up to age 12): 4 minutes - 1 OT

Teens and juveniles (age 13-17): 5 minutes - 1 OT

*Over Time are half of the total match length

Brackets and Schedules:

Event brackets and schedule will be available to view on the event page (Brackets and Schedule tab) no later than 5:00 PM Central on Thursday October 9th.

Awards:

1st (Gold), 2nd (Silver), and 3rd (Bronze) Place medals will be awarded for each division.

Medical Staff:

There will be a professionally trained and certified medic on sight for the event. The Medic will be available for competitors to receive ice, evaluation, and advice in the event of an injury.

When and where is the tournament?
IGC-5 | YOUTH GI & NO-GI is on Saturday, September 12th, 2026 at Isanti Grappling Club. Weight-ins are at 8:15 AM and the event starts at 9:00 AM.
Who can compete in this event?
The event is for kids, teens, and juveniles in Gi and No-Gi divisions.
What is the registration deadline and cost?
Registration is by SEP 9TH AT 23:59. The cost is $30 usd for 1 division and $35 usd for 2 divisions (Gi & No-Gi).
How much are spectator tickets?
Adult spectator admission is $15 for anybody who is not competing. Kids spectator admission is $6 for anybody who is not competing.

What are the match lengths?
Kids up to age 12 have 4-minute matches with 1 overtime. Teens and juveniles ages 13-17 have 5-minute matches with 1 overtime, and overtime is half of the total match length.
