European Union Sambo Cup 2026

Sport Sambo: U11, U13, U15, U17, U19, Adults Combat Sambo: U21 and Adults

1.1       The European Union Sambo Cup 2026 shall be held in accordance with the current International Sambo Rules approved by the International Sambo Federation (FIAS).

1.2       The European Union Sambo Cup 2026 shall be held in the following age categories and disciplines:

Sport Sambo: U11, U13, U15, U17, U19, Adults.

Combat Sambo: U21 and Adults.

1.3       The European Union Sambo Cup 2026 is organized by the European Sambo Federation (ESF) and the Latvian National Federation of Sambo.

1.4       The European Union Sambo Cup 2026 is held to popularize and develop the sport of sambo in the European Union and to strengthen international sporting relations between the members of the European Sambo Federation (ESF) in Europe.

2.    Competition organizers

2.1       General management of the organization and holding of the European Union Sambo Cup 2026 shall be the responsibility of the European Sambo Federation (ESF) and the Latvian National Federation of Sambo.

3.    Dates and venue

3.1        The European Union Sambo Cup 2026 shall be held from 12 to 13 September, 2026.

3.2        Competition venue: Sports Hall, E. Birznieka-Upīša 21E, Riga LV-1011.

3.3       Accreditation of the participants of the European Union Sambo Cup 2026 shall be held at the Sports Hall E. Birznieka-Upīša 21E, Riga LV-1011.

4.          Terms of participation

4.1       National Sambo Federations (NSF) that are members of the International Sambo Federation and represent member states of the European Union, candidate countries for accession to the European Union, and other countries invited by the Organizing Committee are allowed to participate in the competition.

4.2       An unlimited number of athletes from the same National Sambo Federations may participate in the Competition, including in the same weight category.

4.3       Athletes are allowed to compete in two age categories and/or disciplines.

4.4       Registration of delegations to the European Union Sambo Cup 2026 shall be done through the electronic system SMOOTHCOMP (https://smoothcomp.com/ru/events/upcoming)

4.5       The deadline for registration in the Database is 10 September 2026.

4.6       Age and weight categories:

§  U11 (2019–2016) Match duration 2 min (the referee may stop the match by his own decision to prevent a risk of injury)

Boys: –26, –29, –32, –35, –38, –42, -46, +46 kg

Girls: –24, –27, –30, –34, –37, -41, +41 kg

§  U13 (2016–2014) Match duration 3 min

Boys: -32, –35, –38, –42, –46, –49, –53, -58, +58 kg

Girls: –30, –34, –37, –41, –45, -50, +50 kg

§  U15 (2014–2012) Match duration 3 min

Boys: –35, –38, –42, –46, –49, –53, –58, –64, -71, +71 kg

Girls: –37, –41, –45, –50, -54, -59, +59 kg

§  U17 (2012–2010) Match duration 4 min

Cadets Boys: –46, –49, –53, –58, –64, –71, –79, –88, +88 kg

Cadets Girls: –41, –44, –47, –50, –54, –59, –65, +65 kg

§  U19 (2010–2008) Match duration 4 min

Youth Boys: –58, –64, –71, –79, –88, –98, +98 kg

Youth Girls: –50, –54, –59, –65, –72, +72 kg

§  U21 Combat Sambo (2008–2006) Match duration 5 min  

Juniors Men: -64, –71, –79, –88, +88 kg

§  Adult Combat sambo: (2008 and older) Match duration 5 min

(Athletes who have reached the age of 18 are allowed to participate in the competition)

Note:

* Athletes are allowed to participate in two disciplines at the same time (Athletes registered in two categories shall be weighed only once. The official weigh-in shall be valid for all registered categories. The official weight allowance is 200 g)

5.    Technical specifications

5.1       The European Union Sambo Cup 2026 shall be conducted in accordance with ESF Sports and Organization Rules and with the current International Sambo Competition Rules approved by the International Sambo Federation (FIAS).

5.2       The competitions shall be officiated by the panel of referees approved by Chairman of the Technical Commission of the European Sambo Federation (ESF).

5.3       The draw shall be conducted automatically using the SMOOTHCOMP competition management system.

5.4       The Organizing Committee guarantees the availability of qualified medical personnel and first aid throughout the Competition.

5.5       Each participant must have valid medical and accident insurance. The insurance shall be the responsibility of the participating National sambo federations or the athlete.

5.6       Each athlete must have two complete sets of Sambo uniforms (red and blue) in accordance with the current FIAS Competition Rules. Athletes who do not have the required uniform may rent it at the competition venue, subject to availability.

6.    Applications

6.1    Registration shall be completed online via SMOOTHCOMP no later than                                                   10 September 2026, 22:00.

6.2    Any changes to the registration after the registration deadline may be accepted only at the discretion of the Organizing Committee.

7.    Hotel

7.1    The Organizing Committee offers accommodation at a 4-star hotel located approximately 300 meters from the competition venue. Accommodation at the official hotel is optional. Participants may either book accommodation through the Organizing Committee or arrange their own accommodation independently.

Price:

7.2    Participants wishing to book the official hotel are requested to submit their accommodation request to the Organizing Committee by e-mail: info@sambo.lv no later than 1 September 2026.

7.3    Applications for accommodation shall be submitted to the Competition Organizing Committee in accordance with Annex No. 1.

8.    Financial conditions

8.1    The participation fee is:

§  €30 – one category.

§  €40 – two categories.

8.2       The participation fee may be paid during the official weigh-in (cash only) or in advance by bank transfer.

8.3       Participants who have paid the participation fee by bank transfer must present proof of payment during accreditation or the official weigh-in.

8.4        All bank transfer charges shall be borne by the sender.

8.5       All travel, accommodation, meals, insurance and other personal expenses shall be borne by the participating National sambo federations or individual participants

10.    Awarding

10.1    Athletes who win prizes are awarded with medals and diplomas.

10.2    A red sambo uniform is required at the official ceremonies.
