Description
Welcome to Complete Control Martial Arts (CCMA's) fifth Inter-Club Kids Competition.
This event is the second of three scheduled for 2025. As was the case with our inaugural year, the goal of this competition remains to provide a high quality and cost effective way for junior competitors to amass competition experience in an enjoyable environment for children and their families.
To facilitate this, we utilise a grouping based system when generating matchups as opposed to pre-defined divisions. These groupings are based on the age, weight and skill level of children. This is done on a competition to competition basis to ensure that the most applicable groups are formed with regards the quality and quantity of matchups.
Please Note: The matchmaking process will involve grouping children of equivalent age, size, skill, or a combination thereof, who will compete in a true round-robin format. Based on feedback from last year, we want to clarify that while we tend to form larger groups to maximise the total number of matches for each child where possible, we also recognize that this is a development opportunity, and each child has unique needs. If, as a parent, you feel your child has too many matches, to the point that completing all of them could negatively impact their overall experience, we fully support your decision to withdraw them at any point you deem appropriate.
Rules
All matches will be contested under the AFBJJ ruleset minus negatives and stalling penalties - https://afbjj.com/afbjjrules
These rules will be implemented at the discretion of referees with previous experience officiating Kids No-Gi Jiu Jitsu. Their judgement within a match will be considered final and there will be no review process with or without video footage.
Please Note - Athlete safety is the number one priority of officials and they will have the ability to call a submission on an athletes behalf if they consider the situation to be one which may lead too injury (e.g. fully extended arm bar, figure four control with hand behind back, etc).
Medals
All competitors will receive a medal when they have completed each of their scheduled matches. These medals are participation based, and are not indicative of placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc).
