We are hosting a Judo tournament on Saturday 14th November for -8's all the way to veterans. We will also be running a special No-gi senior mens division following the same rules as the IJF, but leg grabs will be in.

This is a great comp for people who are interested in giving competition Judo a go in a safe, fun, friendly environment. You MUST be a member of Judo ACT or relevant Judo Australia state  to compete.

Draws

We will try and run round robin where we can. If there is only 2 in a division then we will do a best of 3 division.

We are running a no gi senior mens division too. The no-gi division will NOT count towards a Judo ACT point scoring competition. 

Cost is $40 per division (early bird finishes 7th November 2026)

Late entry $60 per division

The minimum grade for -9's is white yellow black tip, for Junior and Senior Boys & Girls is 5th Kyu (yellow) and 4rd Kyu (orange) for Cadets and above. 

Weigh in times:

Friday 13th November4:00pm- 6pm at BGC or Saturday 14th November at 7:30am-8:00am

NOTE: If you weigh in on Saturday and miss weight, you will be removed from the draw and forfeit your entry fee.

For Boys, Girls and Cadets categories, athletes are not allowed to remove their clothing, to compensate an additional clothing allowance of 100 grams will be allowed. Weight changes will be allowed during the official weigh-in period.

Term and Conditions:

Eligibility and Conditions of Entry:

1. Competitors must be a minimum 5th Kyu (yellow belt) in senior boys and girls and 4th Kyu for Cadets and above. -9's can be white yellow, black tip.

2. Competitors must be current financial members of the JFA(ACT) Inc. or a JFA Inc. member state. 
This is the responsibility of the coaches /managers of each team. 
Proof of membership will be requested at the weigh-in. 


3. The organising committee reserves the right to abandon or amalgamate any weight divisions where sufficient 
members are not present – coaches or parent will be consulted. 


4. The competition will be played under the IJF rules: 
Juniors and Senior Boys/Girls will be 3 minute contests with golden score. 
Cadet and Senior Divisions will be 4 minute contests with golden score. 


The no gi comp will follow IJF rule set except leg grabs will be allowed.

Competitors Agreement: By entering the Competition and by payment of the entry fee the player (or parent/guardian of the player) agrees to assume all risks, both known and unknown, and all consequences thereof, arising out of or in connection with competing or participating in this event.
The player (or parent/guardian) agrees to adhere to all rules, regulations and conditions of this event.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

*In submitting my application form (or my childs) and by way of my entry to the BGC Comp November 14th . I hereby waive all claims against any and all persons associated with any of the participating gyms, competitors, the event and venue. I understand that I am (or my child) participating in a sport that has full body contact as well as submissions. I assume full responsibility for all my actions during and connected to the above tournament. I understand the risk of competing in this form of Martial Arts competition and hereby release the event organisers and all its employees and associates, tournament sponsors and the event facility, from any type of injury, loss, or death sustained while competing in this competition. I also state that I am in good physical condition and know of no reason why I cannot participate in this Martial Arts event. Divisions or weight classes are subject to change. I understand the rules of the tournament and will abide by them.

In case of an emergency, I hereby authorise any licensed medical personnel to perform any accepted medical procedure deemed necessary and I agree to bear the expense of any such treatment. I also understand and agree that my attendance and/or performance at the tournament may be photographed, filmed, and/or taped and used by Beyond Grappling club or any sponsors for broadcast or reproduction for any portable media. I therefore waive any compensation/royalties thereof.

Furthermore, if the competitor is a minor, I assert that I am his or her legal guardian and I grant my permission for him/her to participate in the BGC Comp Nov 14th. Any violation of the above policy will result in immediate forfeiture of registration fees and disqualification from the current tournament and may result in disqualification from future tournaments.

Furthermore, I acknowledge that by authorising payment I also consent fully to all terms and conditions contained herein.
