ApexZone Grappling Zurich - 1000€ Cash Prize

The tournament will take place at Sport Center Irchel (Winterthurerstrasse 190, 8057 Zurich) on Sunday (23.8.2026). Weigh-ins will start at 8:30, weigh-ins close at 13:00.

Divisions include Novice, Beginner, Advanced and Professional categories in No-Gi.

The Novice division is for athletes with up to 6 months of experience and follows the Beginners AJP ruleset. All the 11-14 years Divisions follow the AJP 13-15 years ruleset. All the 15-17 years Divisions follow the Adult Beginners ruleset. All matches have a duration of five minutes. There will be Single Elimination Brackets or Round Robin systems depending on the amount of athletes per division.

An Absolute Division will also be held, open to all weight classes and experience levels. The Absolute Division follows the AJP Intermediate ruleset and has five-minute rounds. The winner of the Absolute Division will receive a 1000€ Cash Prize.

Points are active for the whole duration of the match. Advantages are rewarded with 1 point and Penalties award the opponent with 1 point. Referee decisions are made if both athletes finish the match with the same amount of points and are final. The Referee has the authority to extend the duration of the match if no clear or reasonable decision can be made at the end of regulation time.

Weigh-ins take place on the day of the event starting at 8:30 or on the day before the event from 15:00 - 16:30 at Sport Center Irchel. Competitors have to weigh in minimum 30 minutes before their division start and they may weigh in wearing only shorts if necessary. There will be a weight tolerance of 0.5kg. If an athlete misses weight, they are normally disqualified but they may be moved to another division at the organizer’s discretion. 

Unique medals are awarded for first, second, and third place in all divisions. The Absolute Division winner receives a €1000 cash prize. 

The schedule will be announced closer to the event. Doors open at 8:30 and matches will start at 9:30. Please use entrance Y30.

-Adults (16+): CHF 20 (CHF 15 if ordered online on Eventfrog)

-Juveniles (under 16): CHF 15 (CHF 10 if ordered online)

-Children (under 12): Free, but must be supervised by someone at least 16 years old
