📌 The athlete's year of birth is considered, not their actual age at the time of competing.
📌 Each athlete may register in only one weight category. Competing in two age categories is permitted.
📌 If fewer than two athletes are registered in a weight category, it will be merged with the next category until the minimum required number of two participants is reached.
📌 The organizers reserve the right to intervene in the distribution of athletes by skill level, in order to prevent highly qualified athletes from competing in beginner divisions.
BEGINNER
Athletes with less than two years of experience in grappling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, sambo, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and other wrestling disciplines.
The following athletes are not allowed to compete in beginner divisions:
athletes holding official sports ranks in wrestling disciplines; holders of colored belts in jiu-jitsu; champions of previous BJJ and grappling tournaments, national-level championships in wrestling disciplines, MMA, pankration, combat sambo, or hand-to-hand combat. Each case is considered individually: this does not apply to those who won brackets with fewer than three matches; it does apply to athletes who have taken first place twice in brackets with at least three matches.
INTERMEDIATE Athletes with 2 to 5 years of experience in grappling, jiu-jitsu (children: grey and yellow belts; adults: blue and purple belts), MMA, judo, sambo, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and other wrestling disciplines.
ADVANCED Athletes with more than 4 years of experience in grappling, jiu-jitsu (children: orange and green belts; adults: brown and black belts), MMA, judo, sambo, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and other wrestling disciplines.
⚠️ If an athlete is found to be registered in a category that does not correspond to their actual skill level, the athlete will be disqualified from the competition.
The Men / Adults / Advanced category constitutes the Elite Division of the Global Grappling Series.
🏆 Prize: USD 10,000 per weight category.
Only athletes who meet the Advanced-level criteria and the requirements of the official tournament regulations are eligible to compete in this division.
