Description
Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to pass on information regarding the exciting tournament coming up on March 14th 2026, which will be our 13th Annual tournament hosted by our studio at 83 A Van Nu Po Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87508. Thanks to all the support from our community and organization, the tournament will be a great chance for your children and yourself to experience a different environment. Participants will be able to compete against other martial artists to see who has achieved a greater level of skill.
The tournament is a fun-filled experience, which works on the confidence level of the student. Students will begin to practice in class to prepare for this day and we will also have separate tournament training sessions available! We will continue building their confidence to be ready to get in front of a crowd, in a stressful environment, and still be able to perform.
Parents, family, and friends are encouraged to come cheer on their student(s)! Parking will be available in the parking lot located outside of the fieldhouse. We will set up the rings on courts just past the main counter, which have bleacher seating and folding chairs.
The Spectator Fee is $5 for adults or children of all ages and all spectator fee proceeds help our students get to the Las Vegas World Martial Arts Event this upcoming July 2025! A concession stand is available! No outside food/drinks(other than water) to be brought to the competition. And ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR BEVERAVAGES(other than water) IN THE GYMNASIUM
We are looking for sponsors for this amazing event. Sponsors will be rewarded by advertising opportunities during and after the event! Any level of participation is truly appreciated! First come, first serve, with a deadline of February 6th to turn in all logos. Please contact Tony Potter at 505-412-2428 or kenpo5.0santafe@gmail.com regarding sponsorship/advertisement or even support notes to competitors.
Agenda of the day of the tournament:
8:00am - Doors Open – Check-in / Weigh in / Judges & Scorekeepers meeting
10:00am – Competition will begin for our beginner ranks / Check-in & Weigh-in will remain open all day.
*We will be grouping competitors by rank & age. We will be releasing a list of reporting times as registration comes to an end.

Divisions
Keeping in line with our organization’s other tournaments, we will be offering 4 events to participate in.
They are as follows:
Forms – You may combine sets/forms, create a unique form, perform an exact Kenpo 5.0 form, do your style’s form, create a form, or a weapon form.
Self Defense – Students will be performing once, street speed only (No slow motion)
5.0 Fighting - Make sure you provide accurate weight, or you will be disqualified. (If weight differs by more than 5 lbs. from registration form, you are not guaranteed to fight in the tournament)
5.0 Grappling - Make sure you provide accurate weight, or you will be disqualified. (If weight differs by more than 5 lbs. from registration form, you are not guaranteed to fight in the tournament)
*You will compete with your highest ranking between kids/teens/adults in all events
The exact divisions and check-in time will be provided as registration comes to an end. We are going to do our best to group the students by rank and age and have them compete in all 3 divisions back-to-back.
There might be a few instances where we need to combine some brackets, depending on the number of competitors.
Each of the events above will be divided by Rank brackets:
White / Yellow / Orange Belts – Beginner
Purple / Blue/ Green Belts – Intermediate
Brown & Black Belts – Advanced
Each of the ranking above will be divided up by Age brackets:
7 & Under 14-15 Years
8-9 Years 16-17 Years
10-11 Years 18-34 Years
12-13 Years 35 & Over
All brown & black belts will have the opportunity to compete for Grand Championships in Forms & Self-Defense!
Medals will be awarded after your group completes that event (have your camera ready)!
