2027 KINGSS CUP Kickboxing Tournament

The KINGSS CUP is a WAKO-sanctioned kickboxing tournament, held for the first time in Windsor, Ontario, and open to athletes from Canada, the United States, and international competitors. Being held from April 23 to 25th, 2027 it will be hosted under the official rules and safety standards of WAKO Canada, the KINGSS CUP provides a structured, competitive environment for athletes of all ages and experience levels to compete for championship titles and division honours.

DISCIPLINES & DIVISIONS

  • Kickboxing K-1, Low Kick and Kick Light Styles per WAKO Canada rules
  • The styles can be summarized below;Kickboxing K-1 - All strikes except elbows are legal. 5 second clinch, catching and sweeps allowed. Low Kick - No knees, elbows, catching kicks, sweeps or clinching allowed. Pure Kickboxing.Kick Light - 50% striking power, for developmental purposes. 
  • Cadet (5-9 years old), Junior (10-15 years old), Intermediate (16-18 years old) & Adult (19+ years old)
  • Novice (0-3 Bouts), Intermediate (4-10 Bouts), and Open (11+ Bouts) Divisions

International Coaches & Fighters – WAKO Registration

Coaches and competitors travelling from the United States & other Countries are welcome to compete at the KINGSS Cup under WAKO Canada sanctioning.

When completing your WAKO Canada registration, all USA-based participants may register under Windsor Thai Boxing for WAKO Canada purposes. This allows you to meet sanctioning requirements and ensures you are properly entered into the event system.

Coach & Corner Registration – WAKO Canada (Mandatory)

All coaches and corners must complete the following steps to be permitted in the corner at the KINGSS CUP. Failure to complete this process will result in denial of corner access.
No exceptions.

⚠️ Only coaches and corners who have completed both steps will be permitted to enter the corner area. Credentials will be verified at event check-in.

Corner Passes

Corner passes will be issued on registration day only – Friday Apr 23, 2027. 
Passes will only be distributed on this day. No exceptions.

Each team will receive two (2) complimentary corner passes. Teams with seven (7) registered athletes or more will receive three (3) complimentary corner passes.

Additional corner passes may be purchased for $50 CAD at registration on Friday Apr 23, 2027, subject to verification of coach eligibility and completion of all WAKO Canada requirements.

⚠️ Only credentialed coaches with valid corner passes will be permitted in the corner.

Bracket Closures & Team Entry Limits

We will close empty brackets to ensure proper scheduling and matchmaking, any division with zero registered athletes will be closed on Friday Mar 26, 2027 (one month prior to the event). Athletes may continue to register only in divisions that remain open after this date. Following bracket closures, the organizing team will begin contacting coaches to assist with appropriate matchmaking for athletes who do not yet have an opponent.

Team Entry Limit

A maximum of two (2) athletes from the same team may be entered into the same division.

Division & Weight Class Changes

In the interest of fair play, honesty, and the integrity of the sport, all athletes are required to fully disclose their competitive experience at the time of registration and to update any changes prior to the event. Division changes resulting from updated or corrected fight experience are free of charge, subject to availability and approval, and must comply with WAKO Canada regulations.

Weight Class Changes

  • Free weight class changes: up to Friday Mar 26, 2027
  • After Friday Mar 26, 2027: weight class changes are subject to a $40 CAD fee, payable before the change is submitted
  • Event-day (registration/weigh-in) changes: $60 CAD, if permitted

⚠️ Important: Athletes may only transfer into divisions with available openings. If a division is full and an athlete cannot make weight for their originally registered division, the athlete will be disqualified without refund.

Withdrawals & Injuries

Refunds will not be provided under any circumstances, except as outlined below as withdrawal from the KINGSS CUP (Apr 23-25, 2027) is voluntary. The organizing committee is not responsible for personal circumstances, including but not limited to injuries, illness, travel issues, or scheduling conflicts.

A refund will only be considered if an athlete is the sole registered competitor in their division and the event organizers are unable to secure a suitable match up. Refunds will not be issued for injuries or any other circumstances.

All athletes who are unable to attend are required to notify the event organizers as soon as possible. Athletes registered in smaller divisions may require additional time to be reassigned or matched if an opponent withdraws.

Liability Waiver & Acceptance of Risk

By registering for this event, the athlete and/or their guardian(s) acknowledges and understands that kickboxing is a full-contact combat sport involving inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, physical injury ranging from minor to severe, permanent injury, or death. The athlete voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation, including those arising before, during, or after competition, and agrees to compete at their own risk. By completing registration, the athlete confirms they are medically fit to compete and accepts full responsibility for their participation.
