Reminder:
Divisions will be made based off of actual weight, not the standard weight classes. This means no cutting is necessary in any case. Brackets will be made by hand to ensure everyone gets two matches. Due to this, some brackets might be Co-ed
Any coaches or parents that would like for their students to compete from outside Kensei Judo please email soren@kenseijudo.com with students full name and honest weight in KG.

Right across from Chase Bank and next to Village Grill. Parking is available in the lot outside the dojo and along the street.
Date and Time
Saturday, June 27th, 2026
Doors Open: 8:00 AM
Warm-Ups Begin: 8:30 AM
Tournament Starts: 9:00 AM
We will begin with the youngest competitors first, starting with Beginner 4–5 year olds, and proceed in order by age group.
Contest Rules and Match Times
Beginner and Intermediate Divisions: 3-minute matches
Senior Division: 4-minute matches
Golden Score: Full regular match time (Senior division has unlimited golden score)
Technique Restrictions
- No double knee drop Seoinage for athletes 10 and under
- No Shimewaza (chokes) for athletes 13 and under
- No Kansetsuwaza (arm bars) allowed in any division
Awards
Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each bracket.
Weigh-Ins
Weigh-ins will be conducted at Kensei Judo on: Monday, June 17th – Thursday, June 24th, 2026 from 5-10:00pm
All athletes must weigh in during this window. No same-day weigh-ins unless pre-approved.
Important Note
This event is an in-house tournament hosted by Kensei Judo. It is not sanctioned by USA Judo, and no USA Judo membership is required to participate.
Match Guarantee and Division Notes
We will ensure that every participant gets at least two matches. In order to make this possible, some divisions may be co-ed, especially in younger or lighter brackets. The brackets listed for selection are preliminary groupings and will be reordered prior to competition day to ensure even distribution. All groupings will be made with fairness and safety as the top priority.
