ATHLETE INFORMATION
REGISTRATION:
Flat entry fee covers all qualified divisions, openweight, and team competition
All athletes must have a current USSF membership (or a national membership of their home country, if applicable) and a IFS/USSF approved mawashi to compete
LOCATION:
DeVos Place Convention Center - Atrium
Grand Rapids, MI
SCHEDULE:
Friday June 27: Demo 3pm-5pm
Saturday June 28: Athletes report by 12pm (noon), tournament begins 1pm
-Men's and Women's weight classes
-Men's and Women's openweight
-Team competition
Sunday June 29: Demo 12pm-2pm
WEIGH-INS:
Weigh-ins will open Wednesday June 25, with times and location TBA
LODGING:
The official hotel for JAFAX is the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, located adjacent to the convention center. A block of rooms is reserved for $179.00 a night. However, participants are more than welcome to find lodging wherever is convenient for them. Downtown Grand Rapids has plenty of hotels within easy walking distance of the venue, and there are many Airbnb/Vrbo options as well. If athletes are having trouble finding a room, contact Gabe and the Grand Rapids Sumo Club directly and we'll help out however we can.
