Description
Open to all eligible Judo Australia members. This is also an ideal opportunity for less experienced players to compete against people from other clubs in their own weight and age categories to gain valuable competition knowledge and competence.
Beginners, especially kids, are encouraged to enter!
Mat Areas
2 mat areas will be used throughout the day.
Weigh-in
Weigh-in Friday night is from 5:00pm to 7:00pm; remote weigh-ins are available from all NQ clubs. Please speak with your coach or contact Townsville Judo for further details.
Weigh-in on the day allowed - from 9am to 9:30am for Mons, Junior Boys/Girls and Senior Boys/Girls.
Weigh-in for all other weight divisions will be from 9:30am to 10:00am.
Changes to weight divisions will be allowed at the time of weigh-in.
If you are unable to weigh-in at this time, or via remote weight in the night before, please contact the Competition Administrator at townsvillejudo@gmail.com prior to the event.
Competition
Boys and Girls divisions will kick off at 11:00am.
Men and Women's divisions will kick off at approximately 1:00pm.
Team Events may be organised by demand on the day.
Entry costs
$35 for first division + $15 for each extra division selected
Late fees will apply after 11pm Friday 29th August - $45 for first division and $20 for each extra division selected
Gi Requirements
All players competing in the Regional Shiai Championship must as a minimum wear a white judogi.
Notes
As per the Judo Queensland Sporting Code, mouth guards are permitted provided they are properly fitted by a dentist. Unfitted mouth guards shall not be permitted. The player must provide documentation prior to the competition to the Event Administrator at nqregional@judoqueensland.org.au and the player must also notify the mat Referee that they have a mouth guard each time they enter the mat to compete.
Accommodation
Please ensure you book your accommodation in advance for the night, as there are several events happening this same weekend.
