Description
Open to all eligible Judo Australia members. This is also an ideal opportunity for less experienced players to compete against people from other clubs in their own weight and age categories, thereby gaining valuable competition knowledge and competence.
Beginners are encouraged to enter, especially kids!
Mat Areas
2 mat areas will be used throughout the day.
Weigh-in
Weigh-in Friday night from remote locations available on enquiry.
- Weigh-in on the day allowed
- From 1pm for all weight divisions
- Changes to weight divisions will be allowed at time of weigh-in.
If you are unable to weigh-in at this time please contact the Competition Administrator, Wayne Palmer, on mackaykodokanjudoclub@hotmail.com prior to the event.
Competition
Boys and Girls divisions will kick off at 3:00pm.
Men and Women's divisions will kick off at approximately 5:00pm.
Team Events may be organised by demand on the day.
Entry cost - $35 for the first division + $15 for each extra division selected.
Late fees will apply after 11:00pm, Thursday 24th July - $45 for the first division and $20 for each extra division selected.
Gi Requirements
All players competing in the Regional Shiai Championship must, as a minimum, wear a white judogi.
Post Comp BBQ and Camping on the Mats
Upon conclusion of the competition, judoka with their family and friends are welcome to join in a BBQ dinner. For catering purposes, please register for the BBQ with your meal option.
Meal Options
- Option 1: BBQ Suasage Meal ($5)
- Option 2: BBQ Steak Meal ($10)
- Salads +/- Sides will be made available for all attending
The dojo will also be made available for anyone wanting to camp over the night on the tatami. Bring your own bedding - sleeping bag + pillow / swag etc.
Notes
As per the Judo Queensland Sporting Code, mouth guards are permitted provided they are properly fitted by a dentist. Unfitted mouth guards shall not be permitted. The player must provide documentation prior to the competition to the Events Coordinator at nqregional@judoqueensland.org.au. Additionally, the player must also notify the mat Referee that they have a mouth guard each time they enter the mat to compete.
