Event Overview
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
?? Weight Checks: All athletes will be weighed on the day of the event. Please make sure to register in the correct weight category to help us organize the divisions accurately.
?? Start Times: The competition will begin at 9:00 AM. We will announce the weigh-in times for each division in advance to allow enough time to check weights before matches begin. Approximate start times for each group will be shared closer to the date.
?? Medals & Match Format:
- U9: Groups of 4 athletes, each having 2 matches. All athletes receive medals.
- U11: Groups of 4 athletes, each having 3 matches (round-robin). Medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
- U13 and above: Match format will depend on the number of participants in each division. Medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Medals will be awarded immediately after each group finishes, in line with venue occupancy requirements.
?? Categories
Each age group will be divided into two levels of experience:
- Beginner: For athletes with little to no competition experience.
- Intermediate and advanced: For athletes with experience in local competitions including State and National events.
For Seniors and Veterans, the competition will be divided by grade:
- White to Orange Belts
- Green to Brown Belts
- Open Division (all grades)
PLEASE NOTE that players will be grouped according to weight, age, and experience and not in strict categories.
In order to give everyone a match, we may combine weight categories where we see it's possible
