This is a great gym! I’ve been training here for a little over a year and I look forward to every class I’m able to attend. I would highly recommend this place to anyone near Simi Valley who wants to challenge themselves physically and mentally.

I started here with zero bjj experience and have really enjoyed the great balance of patience and challenge the instructors and more experienced students provide. Brought my kids to 805, we were welcomed with open arms and were invited to join a class before the class the kids were in. This is the first combat sport experience for them they fell in love with it due to the enjoyable atmosphere. Chris is great with the kids very patient and Cowboy is a down to earth guy. If you’re looking for a family like environment this is the spot. Oh parents can join up with the kids if you’re up for the challenge ;)

Joined this gym about 6 months ago and it has changed my life. I’ve gained strength, confidence, friendships, and so much more. All thanks to the amazing coaches and other members who go out of their way to make sure you feel safe and that you are actually learning. I never feel stupid to ask questions or to ask the coaches to go over things again. The gym is always a good place to go after a long day at work to choke someone out lol. But in all seriousness, I drive about 30 minutes to come to this gym even though I have other jiu jitsu studios closer to where I live and it’s SO worth it.

My gym. More than a gym, my sanctuary. The coaches here truly care for their students. Whether you’re just enrolling your kid for jiu-jitsu classes or signing up yourself to learn self-defense or stay in-shape or maybe want to compete and train yourself to the highest level that BJJ has to offer. The curriculum itself comes directly from Carlos Machado who got it directly from the Gracies so literally a direct lineage of jiu-jitsu here. They also do striking classes, woman’s self-defense, flexibility classes. Doesn’t get any better than 805 Combat Sports. OSS!!!

I started here with zero experience in BJJ. Coaches were patient and I never felt out of place. All the members are super nice and take it super easy on beginners. The goal is always to learn and get better. I have found myself loving BJJ and really excited to keep training here.

Our son joined about a year ago. We live 30 minutes away and would make the drive twice a week because of the amazing coaches. Firm, yet friendly. They don’t just teach BJJ, they teach character, discipline, teamwork, and focus. When our son decided to focus on soccer, the coaches had a long talk with him about passion, focus, and being there for him even if he wasn’t a student of 805. True mentors and a priority on building up the kids. Hopefully we will be back with our other son.

Went in there as a beginner, with trepidation. I’ve never been to a jiu-jitsu gym before, didn’t really know how they run or what to ask. The staff were immediately helpful, made me feel comfortable, explained how to start the process, and even invited me to join in on a “rolling“ session for the day. I can work at my level, not being intimidated to perform at something I don’t know, and it was a great workout. Highly recommended.

Great vibe and great training. Have been going for 6 months so far and love it. Coaches are fantastic. If you're thinking of trying BJJ come and give it a shot. Hardest part is coming the first time. Rip that bandaid off.

805 BJJ is amazing school that emphasizes testing your instruction in live sparring (“rolling”). This means you immediately work on your mental and physical conditioning from day 1. If you’re not sure about starting BJJ, know that it’s a great way to develop a useful skill, physical fitness and develops your ability to find comfort in discomfort.

Both my sons have been training here for over a year & I can’t say enough great things about them, their kid classes are incredible & the professor’s are top notch.. I highly recommend for youth/kid classes or any type of BJJ training or levels!!

I started BJJ at 805 combat sports a few months ago. I immediately felt welcome, and received individual instruction from Jen, the women’s instructor, to get me started. I have since been learning under all their great instructors, and each of their students has something to teach each other. It feels like a family environment, and I would recommend to anyone to try this great sport at such a beautiful, clean and welcoming facility.

I recently enrolled my son, and he absolutely loves the training and the coaches, Josh and Chris. The coaches have so much patience, and make the class so fun. Abdiel looks forward to this after school activity every day. Thank you for teaching him self defense and confidence training he loves.

Great place! I dropped in at an open mat this Sunday and all the guys were amazing. I am new to BJJ and from another state in CA on business but the guys made me feel very welcomed. They taught me a lot and I had a blast. They even took me back to my hotel. I highly recommend this club. Thanks again guys. Much respect, Dustin. Be safe brothers.

Great instructors, beautiful facility, and competitive yet welcoming students. A hidden gem in the Simi Valley! I live in the northern California, but while visiting my in-laws in the valley, I had the pleasure of training at 805 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This gym is owned and taught by black belts under the legendary Jean Jacques Machado. Professors Mark and Eric are not only knowledgeable in BJJ, but also experts in Judo and wrestling, such that they present a complete picture of grappling and help you elevate your game to the next level. They have a beautiful, brick-and-wood made modern facility that is conveniently located right off 118 with an ample parking. They have a hard-working yet welcoming students of diverse age and skill levels. I highly recommend anyone in the valley to check out 805 BJJ!!!

Stopped by here for open mat on a Sunday. The place was clean, people were super friendly (no egos), and the instructor was extremely open and nice. If I lived in the area, I would definitely check this place out!

My son and i have been training here for almost 2 years. Professors Mark, Christian and Greg are absolutely top notch, All are great instructors with many individual strengths!! Combine them with an overall great team atmosphere makes this a fantastic place to train!
